Weather: Saturday and Sunday AM - Clear skies, PM - slightly rainy

Friday night (or whenever characters fall asleep come Saturday morning), everyone on the island will be met with a mysterious dream. It’s a dream that some may find unsettling whereas others may see it as a relief -- overall though, the dream is extremely bizarre.

Everyone on the island will dream about their own worlds as they were just before they touched that mysterious floating ticket. The people, the environment -- all is still, unmoving and untouched. Everything is just as you remembered it before you arrived here, and if you choose to walk amongst the people and the places you knew...no one will move. Nothing will react.

Except one thing, and that’s a shooting star that catches your eye from up above. It makes its way across the sky, even if it’s daylight in your dream, and as soon as it fades from your vision...you wake up.

How odd.

The rest of Saturday proceeds as normal, though one will notice that on the opposite side of the island (to the southwest of the map) is a blocked off area, near the peach trees that have been planted. There’s a sign from Nook Inc on the property that reads, Reserved for Able Sisters. Interesting...wonder what’s in store for you there?

Sunday rolls around with something a little more pleasant. There’s a bridge on the lower part of the island that you can use to get across to the other side of the island. On the other side is a quaint little building called “ABLE SISTERS”. In the display window is a green dress and a pair of white mary janes; from the outside you can hear the distinct sound of a sewing machine at work.

When you walk in, Mabel is there to greet you, bright and peppy as always. There are various different outfits out for display, but if you ask Mabel, their selection is limitless. The way the process works, she explains, is that you can look through the catalogs of clothing available (minus seasonal items), sorted by item type, and place in an order for any of the items. The clothing will arrive in your mailbox the following day.

There is also a dressing room for you to try on any clothes that are currently on display. (For OOC purposes, if there is an item you really want, feel free to assume it's on display at any given time.)

Other than Mabel, however, is Sable, busy at work in the back and doesn’t even look up from her work. And in the lower left hand corner is...someone who isn’t a hedgehog.

Rather...you’ve got yourselves a cat on your hands. He's busy at work, but you might happen to catch him looking at you as you explore the shop.

[She's about to say something embarrassingly sincere, but she decides not to. Maybe if he decides to press, but...]

[ He is absolutely going to press. ]

I'm afraid the stars like to keep quiet, so you'll have to tell me instead.

[She puts a hand on her hips, sighing.]

They're good at keeping secrets, those stars...

[Hmm... Her cheeks go a bit pink, and she looks away.]

I asked them to make sure everyone here could be happy and that maybe I could have a new family.

[ Laurent would have made an additional joke about how Adelaide would be a very sincere magical girl, but then... that last part catches Laurent very much off guard. His smile drops, his gaze falls to the ground and his face also changes in color a little.

Ah. Well. That. That was unexpected. It really was different dating someone he actually cared about, not to mention how family is brought into the picture. At that moment, Laurent's heart felt like it was going to burst. ]

Well then... then we'll have to hope that the stars are gracious enough. If not, we'll have to take matters into our own hands.

[ ...

Laurent turns to the catalog and stares down at it as if that'll make this feeling fade without a hitch. It doesn't, not even when he orders a paper bag. ]

[The worst part is he's right, because Adelaide is sincere about most things.

She shifts her weight, looking over at the mannequins on display. It feels silly to admit her wishes, but what's done is done and she's not ashamed of what she wants. Just... A little embarrassed, because she knows it's cheesy.]

Yeah. Though... I think there's been a decent start. This little ragtag island crew is... About as dysfunctional as most families.

It's nice.

Something like a found family is sometimes even better than the standard.

[ Laurent shares the sentiment, though no one can quite replace his uncle as his top favorite family member of all time. He flips through the catalog again--pages turning even quicker when he sees items designed for kids. He sees this and wonders if Adelaide would look good in it. Of course it wouldn't be on display because it looks like it's for the colder season, but... hm. He'll have to find something else that's more suitable for the weather. The page doesn't turn just yet. ]

Surprisingly, I found that I started caring more about the people here than most people I've met back home.

...Yeah. I'd definitely agree there. The family you choose can sometimes be better than the family you were born to. Not all the time, but...

[She turns her gaze back to Laurent, looking curiously at the page he's landed on. She makes a thoughtful noise.]

I don't know what it is about this place, but... I don't think I've ever had so many friends before.

It makes you feel like you belong here with others, doesn't it?

[ The animal mascot-people are always friendly and Laurent never had a bad experience with any of them. Of course, it doesn't mean there weren't any bad experiences among the islanders, but that's just how people are. As long as the conflicts don't spiral into something that's out of control, he thinks that's fine. ]

Nook looked like he was going to cry when I said that I wanted to stay, given most people were protesting about leaving the place.

[ He makes another order for fox mask, noh mask, eye patch, and gas mask. ]

It really does... I'm gonna miss everyone, if they all leave.

[So many people have left already... Life here is wild and unpredictable, but that just makes the time she has with everyone here even more important.]

I'm not sure I want to leave, either.

[She almost questions all the headwear, but... This is a mystery that will be answered in time, she supposes.]

If I have to leave, I want to come back.

[ Even though he was so dead set on staying here before. He's not so sure anymore, but it would be nice... He pushes those thoughts to the back of his mind and continues to browse through the catalog.

Anyway... ]

If we can figure out how this happened I don't see how we couldn't figure out a way to do that...

[Briefly, she wonders if they could find a way to travel between each other's homes... She's not quite sure she wants to go to Laurent's home, because she knows he would be miserable there...

But it might be nice to show him around her home. Show him her workshop, the town she moved to... They can think about that later.]

What's the occasion?

[ Laurent quietly hums while going through the catalog some more. ]

The store opening, of course. The clothes are cheap here, and they have a good selection. It would be a waste if we don't take advantage of that.

[ Laurent thinks some clothes are usually way too expensive, and this is coming from a guy that was filthy rich back home. Well, it's not like he isn't well off on this island either from selling a bunch of stuff. He makes bank.

He looks up at the clothes on display and. Oh. ]

How about those? I think those would be comfortable.

[ He points to a parka dress and some leggings. ]

[It's kind of nice to have the option to buy clothes that you'll actually like.

She follows his finger, considering.]

They look pretty cute, honestly.

I think you can try them on in the dressing room over there.

[ He gestures over to that direction. There is indeed a dressing room! ]

[To what's probably not a surprise, she's going to grab a pink dress...

It doesn't take long to change, though Adelaide does spend a moment fussing with her hair to make sure it's not too mussed before she steps outside.

She strikes a pose!]

[ Laurent had been mulling over some other things in the catalog before Adelaide comes out and--oh!! She looks cute. ]

[ The leggings also accentuate how long her legs are... anyway, Laurent just smiles over at her. ]

[ Oh. Well then. Laurent reaches over to touch her shoulder to feel the fabric. It really is soft. ]

[Torn between protesting and accepting... Eventually, she decides to accept.]

[ The purchase has been made! And then Laurent hands the catalog over to Adelaide. ]

[She flips through it, occasionally glancing up at Laurent and squinting.]

Man, there sure are some looks in here...

[But eventually she makes a decision.]

[ Laurent looks around to see if there are any on display. Thankfully, there are. He takes a beige jacket and black pants because those were the closest and goes into the dressing room. It doesn't take long for him to come out wearing them. ]

How does it look?

[Honestly, Adelaide thinks he looks good and probably would've looked great in anything he wore. Maybe she's just simple...]

It looks good!

Though I think you'd look good in anything.

[And... There she goes, just saying what she thinks...]

[ He gets the beige biker jacket and black worn out jeans to order. After that, he plucks several other items and goes into the changing room. Clothes are magical, so it's easy to change in and out of them, so it doesn't take long for Laurent to come back out, despite what he's wearing: a white ancient belted robe and an administrator hat. He has black oval glasses on his face and he's holding a folded up hanging scroll. The last two items are his own. ]
