Weather: Saturday and Sunday AM - Clear skies, PM - slightly rainy

Friday night (or whenever characters fall asleep come Saturday morning), everyone on the island will be met with a mysterious dream. It’s a dream that some may find unsettling whereas others may see it as a relief -- overall though, the dream is extremely bizarre.

Everyone on the island will dream about their own worlds as they were just before they touched that mysterious floating ticket. The people, the environment -- all is still, unmoving and untouched. Everything is just as you remembered it before you arrived here, and if you choose to walk amongst the people and the places you knew...no one will move. Nothing will react.

Except one thing, and that’s a shooting star that catches your eye from up above. It makes its way across the sky, even if it’s daylight in your dream, and as soon as it fades from your vision...you wake up.

How odd.

The rest of Saturday proceeds as normal, though one will notice that on the opposite side of the island (to the southwest of the map) is a blocked off area, near the peach trees that have been planted. There’s a sign from Nook Inc on the property that reads, Reserved for Able Sisters. Interesting...wonder what’s in store for you there?

Sunday rolls around with something a little more pleasant. There’s a bridge on the lower part of the island that you can use to get across to the other side of the island. On the other side is a quaint little building called “ABLE SISTERS”. In the display window is a green dress and a pair of white mary janes; from the outside you can hear the distinct sound of a sewing machine at work.

When you walk in, Mabel is there to greet you, bright and peppy as always. There are various different outfits out for display, but if you ask Mabel, their selection is limitless. The way the process works, she explains, is that you can look through the catalogs of clothing available (minus seasonal items), sorted by item type, and place in an order for any of the items. The clothing will arrive in your mailbox the following day.

There is also a dressing room for you to try on any clothes that are currently on display. (For OOC purposes, if there is an item you really want, feel free to assume it's on display at any given time.)

Other than Mabel, however, is Sable, busy at work in the back and doesn’t even look up from her work. And in the lower left hand corner is...someone who isn’t a hedgehog.

Rather...you’ve got yourselves a cat on your hands. He's busy at work, but you might happen to catch him looking at you as you explore the shop.

Of course, but maybe Nook would feel bad for making us pay rent when most of us didn't want to be here in the first place.

[ A landlord with a conscience... what a rarity. Laurent adds the kimono to the order and pays for everything. ]

Buying things from this store also means I can finally sell off the clothes I actually don't like as much as others.

Maybe... He does seem the type.

[He's a good tanuki, she thinks, just doing his best.]

Now I'm curious - what's the worst or weirdest thing you've gotten?

[ Laurent thinks back on every single thing he's gotten from that hideous mailbox and wonders... there are definitely top candidates, but which is the worst or weirdest things he's gotten... hm. ]

I've gotten a lot of dresses and tights...? Though I wouldn't say those are the weirdest things. Had something like a toga though. The visual-punk clothes Joonghyuk wore was originally sent to me... let's see, what else was there...?

[ Give him a second. ]

But I have to say that the one that impressed me the most was an entire kitchen island.

I haven't gotten nearly that many clothes.

[She has gotten a Lot of recipes, though...]

...Was it a functional kitchen island or just, like, a counter?

[That definitely beats a fax machine.]

It's functional, so it's been very convenient to just carry a kitchen island in my pocket wherever I go.

[ Assuming it follows the same logic that things don't need to be connected for water/electricity to work in this world. ]

The world really is built for convenience.

[There's a long, long pause.]

...Fucking hell.

[She laughs softly, shaking her head.]

I'm pretty sure this is all magic, but I've never seen magic like this before.

It probably seems like magic to us, but I think it's just how logic is in this world--like how breathing in oxygen seems to be a staple across most worlds, but sometimes worlds are set in space, where there's no oxygen.

[ So he thinks Nook wouldn't bat an eye about his extremely functional kitchen island. ]

Speaking of which, I think I missed out on something earlier today... something smelled good.

Magic is just as much a part of the logic of a world as physics. It doesn’t always mean something we haven’t figured out how to explain.

[She hums.]

Where were you?

In bed.

[ Dying.

Yeah. ]

I slept in, but I kept my window open in the morning since it was clear. Though, it's raining a little now.

So it could’ve been anything, then.

[Good thing umbrellas are a dime a dozen, at least.]

Oh! That reminds me - I have something for you, but it’s back home.

[ I think Laurent has five umbrellas by now... he'll never need another one again. ]

Maybe there was a ghost in my house, wafting good smell for some reason.

[ The house is empty now... ]

Though, what is it? Or is it a surprise?

Not the worst thing a ghost could do.

[She... Wishes Laurent wasn’t alone in his house, but what’s she gonna do? Move in uninvited?]

Do you want it to be a surprise or do you want spoilers?

[ Yeah??? ]

Hm, actually... I'll let it be a surprise. I'll look forward to it.

[ Laurent leads Adelaide out of the store and opens up a vinyl umbrella. It's clear that he's making room for Adelaide under the umbrella too, if she wants to go under it. ]

Let's go.

[Well maybe she will and maybe she'll bring all her beds with her!!]

Alright!

[She's about to pull out her own umbrella, before noticing there's space for her. She hesitates for a moment, before shuffling into Laurent's space. She feels a bit silly, being touched by a gesture like this, but...

It's not like anyone's ever done this for her before.]

[ House 8 has 2 extra log beds now... plus Laurent's bonus antique bed. Too many damn beds in one house!!

Laurent walks at a decent pace with Adelaide over to where her house should be. In the meantime, he brings the topic of ghosts back up into their conversation. ]

Would you ever adopt a ghost puppy?

[There are not enough beds until the entire floor is Just Beds.]

A guppy.

[The response is immediate.]

...Depends. Would I be able to see it and play fetch? Take it on walks and stuff?

Let's say it can touch things and phase through things like controlling a power--so yes, you could do all of that with the guppy.

[ That term is cute, so Laurent is gonna say it too. ]

Then yes, definitely. If I can pet it, I'd adopt it.

[All dogs are good dogs, even the ghost ones.]

I'm sure the guppy would love you.

[ He wonders if there will be an animal mascot thing like that... a little friendly ghost. Super cute. ]

Here we are.

[ He stops in front of Adelaide's house. ]

It would be a mutual love.

[Could you imagine... It'd be great.

She pushes the door open, gesturing for Laurent to come inside.]

I hope you like it.

[And she will lead Laurent into what passes as their kitchen.]

[ Laurent folds the umbrella and lets it stand near the front door before following Adelaide to the kitchen.

The smell is familiar... ]

Did you make something?

Maybe!

[Yes. Yes she did.

There's a bag on the counter, and inside the bag is a bunch of wrapped caramels. Individually wrapped. Do not ask how long this took her.

She picks up the bag, and holds it out to Laurent with a flourish.]

They won't last to your old age, but, well. Here!

[ Laurent takes the bag and looks inside. He won't ask how long it took Adelaide to individually wrap all the caramels, but he appreciates them very much, shown by how his smile just now is a little different than his usual--it reflects a hint of warmth. ]

They definitely won't last now that I have them.

[ He laughs a little. ]

Thank you. Can I eat one now?

[She smiles black, glad that he likes them. She was expecting him to - otherwise she wouldn't have bothered! - and it's kind of... Nice, being able to make Laurent smile so warmly.]

Of course! They were made to be eaten.

[ Laurent takes a piece of caramel, unwraps the wrapper with his hand and eats the caramel. It's sweet, yet not overwhelmingly so. It's a nice flavor and the texture is good too. ]

I feel like I'd scarf these down in an hour.

[ ... ]

No, maybe 10 minutes, if I'm not careful.
