Weekend 4
Weather: Saturday and Sunday AM - Clear skies, PM - slightly rainy
Friday night (or whenever characters fall asleep come Saturday morning), everyone on the island will be met with a mysterious dream. It’s a dream that some may find unsettling whereas others may see it as a relief -- overall though, the dream is extremely bizarre.
Everyone on the island will dream about their own worlds as they were just before they touched that mysterious floating ticket. The people, the environment -- all is still, unmoving and untouched. Everything is just as you remembered it before you arrived here, and if you choose to walk amongst the people and the places you knew...no one will move. Nothing will react.
Except one thing, and that’s a shooting star that catches your eye from up above. It makes its way across the sky, even if it’s daylight in your dream, and as soon as it fades from your vision...you wake up.
How odd.
The rest of Saturday proceeds as normal, though one will notice that on the opposite side of the island (to the southwest of the map) is a blocked off area, near the peach trees that have been planted. There’s a sign from Nook Inc on the property that reads, Reserved for Able Sisters. Interesting...wonder what’s in store for you there?
--
Sunday rolls around with something a little more pleasant. There’s a bridge on the lower part of the island that you can use to get across to the other side of the island. On the other side is a quaint little building called “ABLE SISTERS”. In the display window is a green dress and a pair of white mary janes; from the outside you can hear the distinct sound of a sewing machine at work.
When you walk in, Mabel is there to greet you, bright and peppy as always. There are various different outfits out for display, but if you ask Mabel, their selection is limitless. The way the process works, she explains, is that you can look through the catalogs of clothing available (minus seasonal items), sorted by item type, and place in an order for any of the items. The clothing will arrive in your mailbox the following day.
There is also a dressing room for you to try on any clothes that are currently on display. (For OOC purposes, if there is an item you really want, feel free to assume it's on display at any given time.)
Other than Mabel, however, is Sable, busy at work in the back and doesn’t even look up from her work. And in the lower left hand corner is...someone who isn’t a hedgehog.
Rather...you’ve got yourselves a cat on your hands. He's busy at work, but you might happen to catch him looking at you as you explore the shop.

[ When Dokja wakes up, it's with a start. It isn't the first time he's had a dream here, but for the past few weeks he's been pretty fortunate to fall into a dreamless sleep every time. This time it's different. The dream is still fresh on his mind, and on one hand someone should feel comforted by the fact that it seemed frozen. At least, it should be a good thing. After all, one could justify that once they return back it meant things would continue as is.
Instead, Dokja finds himself trembling, chest tight and the almost suffocating sensation filling him like someone sinking into deep waters. Breathe, he tries to remind himself. Trying to ignore the feeling of being smothered, a hand blindly reaching out until he finds the figure next to him and finds arms wind around as a source of anchoring himself in place. His face buries into that back, ears straining forward as though searching for the sound of someone else breathing other than his panicked own while he tries to find his voice. ]
later on the day, open.
[ Well, the dark circles under his eyes aren't anything new, but he definitely looks more tired than normal. However, he seems to be looking around and seeing who he can find, whatever it is they're doing. The way he fleets from one person to the next is a little strange but he won't mind sparing some time for any conversations.
Otherwise, he's inspecting the new plot with curiosity and asks anyone nearby with a friendly smile. ] Any idea what's going to be built here?
[ He has some idea given the recent visitors they've had but, he's happy to let some wild guesses come in. ]

It's only when he feels a familiar hold on him does he stir. His eyes flutter open as he looks behind him to see Dokja clinging onto him rather desperately. A frown plasters over his lips as he carefully turns over and tries not to disturb his companion. Did he have a nightmare? A bad dream? Joonghyuk's ears pin back as he wraps an arm around Dokja and rubs his back. There, there. Calm down. ]
no subject
It's reminiscent to a time before but he stays quiet until he's got more or less his composure back. Rather than focus on his own time, his own dream, he finally finds his voice to quietly inquire of the other. ] ..Was your dream the same?
no subject
What's the possibility they had similar dreams? Then again, what could wake Dokja from a rather deep sleep. His eyes stay on the one in his arms, searching his face though he knows the answer. In the end, Joonghyuk knows Dokja well enough. ]
Similar. [ ... ] A different time.
[ Since Dokja is from a point from before making the ultimate choice. ]
no subject
Lashes flutter as he speaks again, head tilting to meet that gaze with his own tired set. What time was it even? Not exactly middle of the night, it's not nearly as dark, so maybe it's nearing dawn. Whatever time it is he can't shake the sensation of the dream. ]
A different time.. [ It comes as mumble, a far off look to his eyes. ] Was time frozen for you?
[ That's the part he's focusing on right now. However, because Joonghyuk is at a later time then.. maybe it's okay. At the very least the panic is slowly leaving him despite the now pounding headache. ]
no subject
Closing his eyes, he tries to catch some more seconds of rest as dawn slowly approaches. There isn't too much to look forward to today, so sleeping in might be acceptable. Just today. ]
Yes. I was able to walk through it, but nothing moved forward. [ That's a little grim, but he explains it as it is. ] The world must be waiting for us to return.
[ Because at his time, Dokja has already assumed his position... So this must be the only explanation, he thinks. Time in their world works differently—the past, the present, and the future all exist at the same time. ]
But in the end, it could be just a dream.
no subject
If it is then I guess that's a good thing.. [ It must mean that things continue as they are once they eventually do go back. But, it's at least a sign probably meant to comfort, something that almost makes Dokja laugh. How is that suppose to reassure them? It has the opposite feeling. ]
Could be, but given our powers are suppressed and the way this world works in different ways.. we shouldn't completely disregard it. [ His gaze grows half-lidded, not really looking at anything until he looks back to his companion. He doesn't say anything else, merely watching him with a quiet brush of his tail as it sweeps over the mattress. He looks like he wants to say something but no other words leave him. ]
no subject
As Dokja says, it could be an omen. His tail lightly thumps the bed as he considers it, too. ]
... We have a lot of work to do when we return home. [ The stroking stops and he merely wraps his arm back around his companion. ] So you should catch some rest while you can.
[ But he can see the outline of Dokja's expression. He knows what that look is. ]
What do you want to say?
no subject
Or, maybe.. Dokja is just reassured that he woke up and found Joonghyuk still here. Even if Joonghyuk had left he would have found some way to cope until he eventually returned as well but.. He's distracted by the thoughts that he doesn't catch what the other man says. Not until he feels that arm back around him and his own hands twitch around that firm back. ]
Oh. ..It's nothing, really. [ The look overcomes him is sheepish. He debates not saying anything else, however that thought from before comes back. ] ..I was relieved that you were still here.
[ Despite everything, how they should try to get back home as soon as possible, his first thought really was 'Thank god he's still here.' There's that coil of guilt, fingers trailing along the length of that back before he squeezes briefly. It's terrible, isn't it? Of course he misses everyone else, and he awaits the day he can be with everyone and spend everyday with them but he still.. ]
no subject
[ Those words make him sad, considering he knows when he returns home... Dokja will still be here, then Dokja in his world would also be in a similar predicament. He would be trapped somewhere, most likely alone. His expression twists in the darkness, but fortunately the same darkness hides most of his sorrow. Instinctively, he pulls him even closer because he also harbors the fear of losing the man beside him again. Haven't they suffered enough? ]
As long as you recall our story, a piece of us is with you.
[ If only Joonghyuk knew that slowly as time passes by, Dokja would lose those same stories. However, he doesn't know that. He lives in that bliss that Dokja will at least remember them and those memories will keep him company as he waits.
Quietly, he buries his nose into the crown of Dokja's head. Quietly, he repeats in his head that they'll come for him... They'll save him. ]
no subject
It's one of my favorite stories.
[ How could he ever forget? He wants to say, but he doesn't. Of course, equally unaware of what his future would bring- what he would keep, what he would lose. Instead, he reassures with the confidence of his love for said story. His tail sways languidly now with a feather-light nuzzle into that warmth. ]
Let's sleep in today? [ Normally Dokja lazes a bit in bed once they get up for the morning, Joonghyuk especially on a schedule but. It should be fine if it's only once, right? Already wanting to put thoughts of those dreams behind him. Ears flicker forward, careful of the weight atop his head as he waits for an answer. ]
no subject
He's still worried, but Dokja seems to be doing better. A small grumble rumbles in his throat as he settles to sleep again.]
Fine. [ Really, how could he say no? Dokja barely got to sleep in before without his life being threatened. ] Don't complain when you say you don't have enough time in the day to finish your tasks.
[ He pulls the sheets over them to make sure they're back to being cozy. ]
no subject
It's fine, I didn't have much planned today anyways. Besides I should be telling you not to complain? [ You're sleeping in too, right? So it works out for him. Legs tangle with the other's as he feels the sheets drape over, a memory coming to mind how he cuddled up to Joonghyuk sometime before to get on his nerves and earned the other man's annoyance- talking about how clingy he was.
Now, they've settled into a state where he more often than not finds himself lulled to sleep by the reassuring hold of their arms around one another. Though very aware of how hard his heart pounded in his chest as he slowly eased into that comfort. Of course Dokja knows if he so much as gave word of how snugly Yoo Joonghyuk is he would most definitely die. Scratch that, there would guaranteed be a murder on the island. ]
suffering threeway wildcard
It's Laurent.
[ It's starting to rain a little in the afternoon, so he has an umbrella with him. ]
myaa
Hello, Laurent. Come on in. [ He does make notion to take off his shoes, of course. Tracking in dirt is the fastest way to gain Joonghyuk's wrath whether he's cooking or not. ] Make yourself at home, Joonghyuk-ah is finishing up with food preparations right now.
Sit.
[ The share platters and rice are on the table with an array of side dishes. It's quite the sight! ]
no subject
I see you guys made up. I'm glad.
no subject
Ears twitch atop his head at Laurent's words, glancing over before peeking over at Joonghyuk. ] Ah.. I guess you could say that.
[ Lips twitch a little as though debating smiling at the comment. Something like that was a bit normal between them but it wasn't as if nothing came out of it? So.. ]
no subject
It's none of your business.
[ Look at this food? This food is worthy of more attention than their situation. ]
no subject
It looks good.
[ Since Joonghyuk cooked it, it must be good, right? Right...?
Maybe it's the smell, but something about it gives him an odd feeling. ]
no subject
Actually, neither to both of those. Let's keep that hush. ] Don't compliment Joonghyuk-ah's cooking too much, he's bloated enough as is.
[ What's the verdict, Joonghyuk? Can they start eating now? ]
no subject
Stop booing him. He's right. ]
If you keep talking, I'll take away your food.
[ Feast!! ]
no subject
What's the occasion though? I didn't expect you to invite me over for food.
[ He hasn't touched the possible spicy food yet... ]
no subject
He's always cooking our meals everyday anyways, but.. [ For a moment, Dokja glances off to another part of the room, thinking of their previous roommates now gone. He's quickly back to serving himself some more food onto his plate. ] Sometimes it's better with more company.
Inviting you over was his idea though. [ Of course, Dokja had no complaints about it. He likes Laurent. ]
no subject
So he’s going to collect the side dishes and entrees he wants, then eat in silence. ]
