Weekend 4
Weather: Saturday and Sunday AM - Clear skies, PM - slightly rainy
Friday night (or whenever characters fall asleep come Saturday morning), everyone on the island will be met with a mysterious dream. It’s a dream that some may find unsettling whereas others may see it as a relief -- overall though, the dream is extremely bizarre.
Everyone on the island will dream about their own worlds as they were just before they touched that mysterious floating ticket. The people, the environment -- all is still, unmoving and untouched. Everything is just as you remembered it before you arrived here, and if you choose to walk amongst the people and the places you knew...no one will move. Nothing will react.
Except one thing, and that’s a shooting star that catches your eye from up above. It makes its way across the sky, even if it’s daylight in your dream, and as soon as it fades from your vision...you wake up.
How odd.
The rest of Saturday proceeds as normal, though one will notice that on the opposite side of the island (to the southwest of the map) is a blocked off area, near the peach trees that have been planted. There’s a sign from Nook Inc on the property that reads, Reserved for Able Sisters. Interesting...wonder what’s in store for you there?
--
Sunday rolls around with something a little more pleasant. There’s a bridge on the lower part of the island that you can use to get across to the other side of the island. On the other side is a quaint little building called “ABLE SISTERS”. In the display window is a green dress and a pair of white mary janes; from the outside you can hear the distinct sound of a sewing machine at work.
When you walk in, Mabel is there to greet you, bright and peppy as always. There are various different outfits out for display, but if you ask Mabel, their selection is limitless. The way the process works, she explains, is that you can look through the catalogs of clothing available (minus seasonal items), sorted by item type, and place in an order for any of the items. The clothing will arrive in your mailbox the following day.
There is also a dressing room for you to try on any clothes that are currently on display. (For OOC purposes, if there is an item you really want, feel free to assume it's on display at any given time.)
Other than Mabel, however, is Sable, busy at work in the back and doesn’t even look up from her work. And in the lower left hand corner is...someone who isn’t a hedgehog.
Rather...you’ve got yourselves a cat on your hands. He's busy at work, but you might happen to catch him looking at you as you explore the shop.
> Approach?

Stop booing him. He's right. ]
If you keep talking, I'll take away your food.
[ Feast!! ]
no subject
What's the occasion though? I didn't expect you to invite me over for food.
[ He hasn't touched the possible spicy food yet... ]
no subject
He's always cooking our meals everyday anyways, but.. [ For a moment, Dokja glances off to another part of the room, thinking of their previous roommates now gone. He's quickly back to serving himself some more food onto his plate. ] Sometimes it's better with more company.
Inviting you over was his idea though. [ Of course, Dokja had no complaints about it. He likes Laurent. ]
no subject
So he’s going to collect the side dishes and entrees he wants, then eat in silence. ]
no subject
[ He says it as if it's just a simple fact and eats some more side dishes with rice. Laurent has been playing on the piano in his home a little more. Who knows why... ]
I didn't expect you to invite me over though.
[ Laurent says that with a smile while looking at Joonghyuk, but he's somewhat suspicious. ]
no subject
[ Dokja doesn't say anything, but it's a bit unsettling that they seem to disappear one by one. He couldn't help but notice how quieter it got with Kairi's company gone. So he can only imagine losing both your roommates. ]
You didn't expect him to say he'd save you either.
[ Listen, he's not on anyone's side but he is making a point that sometimes Joonghyuk does unexpected things? Though, now he's looking at Joonghyuk too. He's finally helping himself to the main dish and it is almost immediate he receives a kick in taste. Not overwhelmingly so, but he does notice it. I see. ]
no subject
[ It’s unsettling? Joonghyuk has explored all of the island yet he hasn’t found answers yet. He seems lost in thought as he takes a couple of pieces of the main dish, sweet and sour pork ribs with a spicy kick, into his bowl and eats them with his rice.
It’s hot, but it isn’t unbearable for him. ]
His world’s system is unnecessarily cruel. If we don’t stop it, he’ll also become like those Constellations.
no subject
[ His search with Minato using the seaplane came up emptyhanded... alas.
Laurent never really thought of the system back home as cruel, but he never thought about it in the first place. Hm. He doesn't like that, so he'll eat some more rice with side dishes.
He might as well end up like a Constellation with ending B. ]
no subject
[ Of course Minato suggested going around and meeting with everyone on the chance of catching someone disappearing in the act.. it hasn't come up with anything. Even Kairi suddenly vanished and she lived here without Dokja noticing a thing.
He helps himself to more rice to take with the pork ribs, though he cracks a smile at Joonghyuk's mention of 'those Constellations.' ]
Some of those Constellations happen to be ones we could readily rely on. I feel like we can give Laurent a little more credit.
no subject
[ The Constellations only changed because of the man before him. Otherwise, only a few Constellations ever did change. In the end, Joonghyuk doesn't like them. It's part of his written creed.
Watch him stuff his face in angy. ]

Though, after being converted to a Concept, eating and drinking were just luxuries now instead of necessities. He quietly thinks to himself about how much he has changed ever since finding out he became "End" in terms of physically, mentally, and emotionally. It's rather ironic, he finds, that he starts self-observation now rather than before. He supposes that's why he scored low on introspection intelligence a while back when he took the test out of whimsy.
It's the little things he noticed that made him feel like he was changing while living on this island compared to back home. When he looks around from where he sits, the house doesn't look all that personalized. It reminds him of back home, where there were barely any personal things in the apartment--no photos, decorations--just the bare necessities like a bed, couch that rarely gets usage, a coffee table that often acts as a footrest... in comparison, he's decorated the interior of his house a lot here. Perhaps it's because he lived with other people and wanted to take care of them, but they're gone now. He can only hope they're doing well... wherever they are.
He eyes the food while lost in his thoughts and picks up a short rib to tear the meat off with his teeth.
...
Laurent makes a face, pausing for a second to look down at it and shoves bits of rice into his mouth as if that would offset the spicy flavor. He doesn't say anything. ]

[ He sighs, returning to their delicious feast and pairs some more side dishes with the tender meat. His tail starts to sway over the side of the chair, satisfied by the taste of it and finds his gaze draw back to Laurent who has grown sudden silent. And also seems to have made a face for a moment? Hm. A slow glance at Joonghyuk before he returns to Laurent, starting up conversation again. ] How's the food, Laurent?
no subject
He takes more of those ribs and eats them like the spicy is nothing. To him, it's pleasant. However, he has heard Laurent doesn't have much of a spice tolerance. Let's see what that man will say now? ]
no subject
[ The ratio between side dish and rice have overwhelming tilted in rice's favor as Laurent continues to eat rice instead of anything else. God. He can't handle this and the more time passes, the more it lingers and he hates everything about it. ]
Can I have some water?
no subject
At the mention of water does Dokja sit up a little straighter, reaching for the classic pitcher he crafted weeks before and pours some water into a nearby glass. He pushes the glass over afterwards. ] Here you go.
no subject
I used some different ingredients to see if it can keep a cohesive flavor profile.
no subject
[ Laurent downs the water so quickly and returns to eating more... but avoids the main entree after finishing up the piece he grabbed. ]
Such as...?
no subject
But also pointedly notices Laurent avoiding eating it. He looks back to Joonghyuk, he's asking you mister chef so.. you have the spotlight now. ]
no subject
[ Cause it's still tasty! And it's spicy, very spicy, but you can still taste the other flavors. However, the heat lingers... The heat builds. Ideal. ]
no subject
Laurent looks at the main entree like it offended his loved ones and everything he ever stood for in his life. The spicy aftertaste certainly doesn't help matters. Maybe he shouldn't have gone for a slightly big piece. He has Regrets. He said the food was good, but he's not sure if he can taste anything anymore. It's different than the spicy ramen contest. This shortrib was just an explosion of spiciness.
He's such a wuss when it comes to spicy food. His face is getting red, just slightly. ]
It is.
[ That's all he can say without losing control of his speech for now. He feels like he's gonna die. ]
no subject
He merely keeps eating as he watches. ]
no subject
There's no need to force yourself, Laurent. [ Not that he has been after that single bite but. ] Would you like some milk?
[ He will slowly provide some help you for, Laurent.. until Joonghyuk stops him anyways. ]
no subject
Thank you for the food. Sorry, excuse me--
[ Despite there being a bathroom right there in the house, Laurent actually speeds outside. And that's when the two might hear a very loud muffled scream.
And then the face in river top level happens aka Laurent ejects himself from this thread ]

Dokja only has one thing to say to Joonghyuk as the man is gone from their vicinity, even as they hear that muffled scream in the distance. ]
..This was the punishment, wasn't it.
