The Finale is Near

Days have passed since you first wound up with those strange mechanical bits in the mail. While all of you have found your respective partners, there’s still the question of “What do we do now?” in regards to the combined pieces. There are a few potential courses of action with the knowledge you have of how magic works here on the island, but the answer may or may not be what you’d expect.

Regardless, things seem to be coming close to wrapping up. For those of you who want it...maybe it’s finally time to return home. For those of you who want to stay, hopefully there's a way to do so. The only way to find the answers to these two things, however, is to start figuring things out.

[ It retains its shape so it just rolls off Ren's head and falls onto the floor if he doesn't catch it. ]

[Welp, fair enough. Ren does manage to catch it, glancing at it before shrugging and pocketing it with a little smile.]

I did. It's been a wild eight weeks, but I'm grateful for it. Even if we have to part now, I'm...really grateful for the time I spent with everyone, you know?

[Even if it hurts like hell to say goodbye.]

What about you? Good vacation?

Yeah, it was. It helped me get my head back on straight, even though, I'll miss people I've met here, which is a lot more than I can say for people usually.

[ He smiles. ]

I heard Kaede was going with you. Please take good care of her.

I swear I will. I'm going to give her the fresh start she deserves, and I'm always going to take care of her.

[He'll give her the life that was robbed from her.]

And you... You take care of yourself. I know you'll find a way to have things back home work out.

[ Laurent wonders if that's a generic statement or if he heard it from someone... well, it doesn't matter anymore, he thinks. He laughs a little though. ]

You make it sound like you two will get married.

[Well, that's one way to turn Ren beet red in an instant. He usually doesn't get flustered this easily, and yet.]
