The Finale is Near

Days have passed since you first wound up with those strange mechanical bits in the mail. While all of you have found your respective partners, there’s still the question of “What do we do now?” in regards to the combined pieces. There are a few potential courses of action with the knowledge you have of how magic works here on the island, but the answer may or may not be what you’d expect.

Regardless, things seem to be coming close to wrapping up. For those of you who want it...maybe it’s finally time to return home. For those of you who want to stay, hopefully there's a way to do so. The only way to find the answers to these two things, however, is to start figuring things out.

What are you looking to accomplish in your home world?

[ he sounds a little curious about it. they'd talked a few times but hitsugaya doesn't think they'd ever spoken about home before. he doesn't usually ask this of others but the time they got their powers back in those dreams made him wonder. ]

At this point? I'm not sure, exactly. I'm not a Phantom Thief anymore, so I need to find a purpose as Ren Amamiya, not Joker. I think...it'll take some time, and honestly, not having my powers anymore is like having a part of me ripped away. Even if it was only for a year. Still, in time, I'm sure I'll figure it out. For now, I'll take care of Kaede, and finish up high school. Maybe I'll go back to Tokyo for university, and be closer to my friends again.

[He hums, leaning back, holding himself up with his hands behind him.]

I'll just have to find my purpose the same way everyone else in my world does.

[ he's quiet as ren speaks. high school, university -- these are all things that hitsugaya's familiar with, as he's been alive for over a century and seen the human world more than a few times. still, he wonders what kind of life that would be. one that isn't driven by fighting and protecting other people.

he can't say he's envious, but the thoughts linger at the back of his mind. ]

So you'll be going back to living life as an ordinary human. ... Not too far off from how we were all living here, minus the animal features.

Basically. It was really nice, being more than just an everyday kind of guy. But even without my powers, I'm not just going to let myself be completely like everyone else. I'll figure it out.

Huh. That's rebellious of you.

...We're about to enter a war, where I'm from.

That's...rough. I guess all I can do at this point is wish you the best and hope it ends quickly, before too many people get hurt.
