Mystery Mail

With the event coming to a close, you may be thinking, “What now?” It seemed like Tom Nook really wanted you all to host KK Slider for the sake of going home, but you’re still here. You’re still on Isle Sonrisa. Although...the event did bring you Gulliver, and that in turn brought you those mysterious parts and messages you got in the mail this morning. Could this be a step closer to getting back home? Maybe so, but there’s only one way to find out.

Before you begin, though, Tom Nook has a few words to say for his announcements.

“Everyone, thank you so much for your hard work these past few weeks. We were able to bring KK Slider over and in turn, we’ve been receiving dozens of applications for new residents! Er, granted, I can only take so many of them until we get all of you home -- well, those of you who expressed wanting to go home, anyhow -- so I’ll be busy this upcoming week. Wilbur, Orville and I have been trying to reach out to people to try to help you find your way home, and our friend Gulliver mentioned he sent parts over to you all, yes? Do let me know how that goes! Ah, and there’s one other thing I need to take care of myself, so if you need me, I’ll be in my tent for the rest of the week.”

He doesn’t specify what that specific thing is, though. Ah, well. That seems to be the end of his announcements: Short and to the point. He seems a little stressed and busy what with the application intake, so perhaps your time is better spent figuring out the mystery behind what you received in the mail.

...well, I guess it could be me. [He doesn't think anyone else has any sort of flame-related anything, after all.

He holds out his bit of metal so Kevin can take it, if he wants to look it over.] But I'd have thought the metal things would match.

[Kevin accepts, and tries to clink the two pieces together a few times to no avail.]

This... a puzzle? I'm not good at puzzles.

[Flame and sun....flame and sun...]

It probably is...there's no magnets on the back of either piece, is there?

Mag...nets...?

[He tries rotating them around and clinking them together at different places.]

[ It takes a little bit of experimentation for something to happen, but the friction from rotating and clinking the pieces together several times is what lights a spark, so to speak. A couple of things happen: One, they hear the sound of a wolf howling, gentle and low; the other is that they’re surrounded by harmless flames, neon purple and blue flames for only a few seconds. There's a glow that emits from the joined pieces, and when it fades...

It forms a very interesting, shape -- that of a propeller! It's rather large, too, and probably around the same size as the aforementioned object. Probably somewhere between 18-20 feet in diameter. Very large! ]

Whoa, get back--!

[The glowing is what gets Lio to pull Kevin away, and then there's the howling and...Burnish flames??

And now it's a propeller that is much, much larger than either of the two pieces were.]

Uh.

[southclaw]

[Well, that happened! Kevin is completely stupefied by the whole display, making it easy for Lio to pull him.]

Wow...! What is it?

Some kind of propeller...how the hell did we get that out of those little metal bits?!
