The Final Week
Weather: All Week - Clear Skies
- Mystery Mail
With the event coming to a close, you may be thinking, “What now?” It seemed like Tom Nook really wanted you all to host KK Slider for the sake of going home, but you’re still here. You’re still on Isle Sonrisa. Although...the event did bring you Gulliver, and that in turn brought you those mysterious parts and messages you got in the mail this morning. Could this be a step closer to getting back home? Maybe so, but there’s only one way to find out.
Before you begin, though, Tom Nook has a few words to say for his announcements.
“Everyone, thank you so much for your hard work these past few weeks. We were able to bring KK Slider over and in turn, we’ve been receiving dozens of applications for new residents! Er, granted, I can only take so many of them until we get all of you home -- well, those of you who expressed wanting to go home, anyhow -- so I’ll be busy this upcoming week. Wilbur, Orville and I have been trying to reach out to people to try to help you find your way home, and our friend Gulliver mentioned he sent parts over to you all, yes? Do let me know how that goes! Ah, and there’s one other thing I need to take care of myself, so if you need me, I’ll be in my tent for the rest of the week.”
He doesn’t specify what that specific thing is, though. Ah, well. That seems to be the end of his announcements: Short and to the point. He seems a little stressed and busy what with the application intake, so perhaps your time is better spent figuring out the mystery behind what you received in the mail.
Your next steps will be important, after all. The end is near; how will you get there?

FOR SCINTILLA
But even if he doesn't want to go back to his world, that doesn't mean he wants to chain people here for it.
But where to go? How to look? Ultimately Emporio just ends up fishing at the riverside, Weather Report floating as ominously behind him as ever.
Maybe he'll catch something that the museum needs. That's distraction enough right?]

[Scintilla (as usual accompanied by a wind-up Aymeric) looked up from her own fishing—glanced in Weather Report’s direction, and swiftly decided she’d seen far weirder things.]

[Oh- he got so invested in the fishing that he didn't even notice...well.] Oh. It's...nothing, I guess. ...I just got a weird package, I guess...
[At the very least, he cannot deny it was odd.

She should be happy.
Right.
Right?
Alexis could finally go home, apologize, live her life again.
But...
The past few weeks, she's been quiet. Minding her own business, contributing to the community. And enjoying all the time with Sonico that she could.
Now, though? She has a choice to make.
Alexis stands on the beach, furiously skipping rocks into the ocean, before growling,] Rrrrrgh! [and flopping onto her back, groaning. Help her, maybe?]
For Tom Nook
[Soon enough, Tom Nook is approached by Alexis, her tail twitching back and forth. She asks him a simple question:]
If I wanted to stay—which is a maybe, at least for now—how... would I go about doing that, if this machine brings everybody else home?

but seeing as though they're already uncovering parts to a whole solution to maybe finally go home, he doesn't want to let anything go unsaid. he approaches. ]
What are you so angry about?
[ he sounds mildly annoyed. ]

[What a typically Alexis response. It's like they're back in the first week when Alexis was threatening people in the woods.]

[ grumble, grumble... he keeps his distance from her, but he doesn't leave. ]
Get it together. If these parts are what will get us to finally go home, then you don't have much time left with everyone -- not to mention that people have been disappearing left and right for the past few weeks, too. There's no point in spending the rest of your time here being so upset.

[Alexis can't stay mad around her. Primarily because she'd feel guilty about upsetting her, but also she has a calming presence like that.]
I guess I kinda am, now that I think about it.

Hmmm.... [ He does think over his reply, though. ] As it is, I did wish for everyone who wanted to go home to return home safely... and as wishes have been affecting things on our beautiful island here, it is possible that not everyone has to go home!
[ He nods to himself, then gives a little hum of consideration. ]
You mentioned a machine... What sort of machine? I haven't heard of anything like that, but I certainly am curious!

[Edgeworth had been walking on the beach before seeing Alexis flop on the ground. Honestly, he couldn't blame her. Would that he could be so free with his emotions.]
