Weather: All Week - Clear Skies...?

A New Week

Another Monday is here, and that means another round of weekly announcements. You haven’t had any strange dreams since that odd one on Friday evening, but some of you can’t help but feel something…familiar stirring up inside of you. Some kind of energy, some kind of power…

But before you can think too much on it, your train of thought is interrupted by Tom Nook’s voice booming over the speakers again, as per usual.

“Good morning, everyone! Happy fifth week on the island, yes, yes! I have a very special announcement for you today, and that’s that the museum will be open starting on Wednesday! We are currently detailing where to lay out the plot, and you will see another construction area tomorrow. We’ll most likely have it near Able Sisters for ease of convenience. I’m very pleased with our two new establishments!”

He claps delightedly to himself. Tom Nook seems very pleased with how the island is coming along so far!

“Next, please give a warm welcome to our new neighbor, Raymond! Raymond is working as the Able Sisters’ accountant, though he is a little confused about the number of clocks in his house… Ah, but I digress. I’m very happy that we’ve filled up all three of our villager plots!”

Snake, Audie, and Raymond...what an interesting trio. One who enjoys working on his muscles, one who loves fashion, and one who crunches numbers.

“And finally,” Tom Nook continues, “while I don’t have much for you all this week, I am curious about something. I’d like to know how the Meteor Shower went for all of you! It was your first one, no? I hope your wishes will come true!”

Little does he know...some of them already have. Perhaps they will continue to, too, throughout the week.

After the morning announcements, you may notice that there has been a new posting on the bulletin board. Upon closer inspection, the new posting is from no one other than Snake himself!

His posting is as follows:

Hey hey! I’m CRAZY excited about living here on Isle Sonrisa, where the biggest attractions are my biceps! I wanna build up my muscles even more, so can you help me with something?

I want as many barbells as I can get! Yep, no limit, just give me everything you’ve got! You know where to find me, and I’ll give anyone who gives me a barbell a special surprise! Thanks!

P.S. If anyone wants to arm wrestle sometime, give me a ring! I’ll be right there in a jiffy!

[ It is... shopping day. Well, more like they're running a bit low on groceries, which is fair considering Joonghyuk makes three meals a day for the both of them. It's nice to switch things up after how their first week was... yeah, he hasn't touched apples since.

For now he waits outside their house, looking in the direction of the grocery store. If he remembers right.. Already he's fiddling with the NookPhone, opening to look at the map app and squint in the direction from what he remembers the Ables Sisters' shop is in. He looked at it the day the plot was decided on but hasn't visited since. It'll be nice to pick out clothes for a change instead of sticking to whatever they manage to get in the mail..

Ears perk up as the door closes behind him, tail suddenly raised up before it sways with recognition of his companion. ] Good to go?

[ Joonghyuk exits their home with some casual clothes and a backpack. Despite having a good amount of space in his pockets, he... Likes having more inventory like the hoarder he is. He checks his nookphone to check the map, too.

It's a habit in case things change. ]

Yes. [ Putting his phone away, he looks at Dokja. ] Did you want to buy anything specific?

[ As comfortable and familiar as his coat is, it kinda struggles with his tail so he opt out for a casual hoodie with regular pants. To which he slides both his hands into the front pockets along with his phone. The map seems to have changed recently so it's a good habit to make and a nice refresher on the layout. ]

Mmmm.. nothing comes to mind. [ He will secretly buy some ingredients by the weekend though. Not that he needs to tell Joonghyuk. ] Let's head to the grocery store first.

[ Since it's on this part of the island anyways. The Able Sisters' shop requires them crossing a bridge. He starts to move, steps at a slow pace with feeling no need to rush. ] Oh, maybe some ingredients for something sweet? Though we don't need it anytime soon.. but we could set some time aside to make dessert on the weekend.

[ For no reason. ]

[ Arching his eyebrows, he leads them to the grocery store. ]

For what occasion?

[ Dokja, he knows your eating habits. Sweets isn't something he sees the other man eat a lot, but of course he does especially when the kids are involved. It makes him wonder if maybe Dokja likes sweets? ]

Isn't it fun to mix things up for a change? [ To which Dokja answers without a miss in step. Of course, he knows he might not leave him with just that. ] Serval has been putting a lot of effort lately. It would be nice to treat her to something.

[ It's not entirely wrong. She's a good child (?). ] Don't you think so? [ His pace matches with his companion, subconsciously inching closer as he talks and addresses the conversation to him.

Though he keeps his gaze leveled with Joonghyuk, his tail idly behind him sways side to side before drifting over and curling itself around a familiar black one just as his hand nearest brushes his partner's own. He keeps talking as if he doesn't notice. ] It would be fun to make something back home too.

[ Joonghyuk is about to speak, but he feels the fingertips brush his... He feels that tail curling around his. It isn't unfamiliar, but it's broad daylight and he hasn't experienced Dokja trying anything in public yet.

So he freezes in place, staring him down with a questioning look. ]

[ The reaction is almost immediate, the second Joonghyuk stops walking his hand is snatched back to his own side as if burned and his tail immediately raises straight up behind him. There's also some distance between the two of them too as if he's suddenly aware of what he was doing.

Dokja just casually stuffs both hands into his pocket as if nothing just happened. ] Wh, What? [ No good? Probably no good. ]

[ ??? Joonghyuk’s scowl deepens as he watches Dokja’s sheepish response. It’s to be expected, maybe a bit endearing, but he finds it annoying. The fur on his tail bristles as it lashes side to side. ]

If you want to hold my hand, do it properly.

[ Stop dancing around!! He extends an open hand, palm facing up. ]

[ Dokja 's attention turns almost immediately to that held out scarred hand and finds his gaze lingering on it. Ears flick once, folding a little back as he glances back at that scowl. It doesn't seem unwanted. Rather, Joonghyuk would not be saying anything if it was.

He fights back a look himself, lips pressing together with quick flicks of his tail until he slides his hand from the comforts of his pocket to rest it carefully in that hand. ] I wasn't sure if you wanted to.

[ Do it properly. He carefully moves closer again, fingers slowly lacing them together with a testing squeeze. ..His hand is very warm, he notices. He doesn't realize the happy wags of his tail and instead focuses on tugging them along towards the grocery store once more. Without delay he refers to the previous topic. ] Anyways, is it fine?

I never said I didn't want to.

[ His tail lashes again. Stop making decisions for him, Dokja! While Joonghyuk doesn't give any testing squeeze, he holds the other man's hand with care and security. They won't be able to hold hands when they walk back home with all the grocery bags, so might as well.

With a light tug, he guides Dokja back onto their path to the grocery store. ]

Why wouldn't it be fine?

[ If anything, he wonders if it's fine for Dokja... He remembers hearing whispers about his past, then his mother dropping little tidbits. It doesn't seem like he enjoys unwarranted attention. ]

[ This is becoming a bit of a bad habit here. Assuming things about Yoo Joonghyuk more than once by now. Not counting things back home, of course. At least Dokja realizes it, though taking note of the way his hand is held by the other. It's surprisingly gentle. He feels betrayed by the way his heart stutters at this knowledge.

Dokja doesn't complain as once again Joonghyuk takes the lead back from him. His tail doesn't curl around behind like before but does keep some content wags going. ]

Just wondering.

[ It's a light shrug of his shoulders. Of course he's doing his best to ignore any people in the distance, luckily he's gotten use to unwarranted attention in the form of Constellations, even the interviewers he braved before the final scenario.. Not that it doesn't make him a bit nervous but he manages to push past it with an easy cover. ] I can't really think of what desserts to make on the weekend. Is there something you want to make?

[ He cocks an eyebrow as they enter the grocery store, picking up one of the little baskets to add stuff in. ]

... You want to make a dessert, but you have nothing in mind.

[ On one hand, suspicious. On the other hand, this lines up with Dokja being a whimsical idiot. He ponders the question as he adds the usual necessities into the cart. ]

A parfait is something even a fool like you can make.

[ Oho. Honestly, it is a bit strange. Ideally he wants to see what kind of dessert Joonghyuk may want to make, if because it aligns with his tastes which is perfect for the event he has planned. ..Or of course he can pick something simple because he thinks Dokja is an idiot.

Bastard. ] Thank you for your input.

[ Which he says almost flatly and a twitch of his lips. His hand has eased away from the other's since, but feels the lingering warmth in it to which he curls his fingers a little until he's off to grab some things they may need.

After a few minutes of that, he curiously looks to their basket. ] Anything else we need?

[ Dok ja st u pid. Joonghyuk looks into their basket that is quite filled, but wanders off to the other part of the grocery store. ]

I want to try out some new recipes.

[ So he puts some other items in that they usually don't see in their fridge! In the end, it'll be good, so it doesn't matter. ]

Do I get any hints? Or is it a surprise?

[ Dokja trails behind with high raises of his tail, swishing with curiosity.

..He wonders if it's possible to put their bags of groceries into their pockets? Once they're done buying that is. At least he knows for sure they can with any clothes they buy later. ]

[ Joonghyuk goes to pay, wondering if he should entertain Dokja's question. When that's all done he, as his companion thought, puts the bags of groceries into his pocket like nothing. ]

Tomato ice cream.

[ He's kidding. ]

[ With the groceries set away, Dokja has nothing to doublecheck regarding said fiendish item. ..Wait, the garden-- ]

You're joking?

[ Please say sike. ]

[ If only Joonghyuk could show he thinks that funny. He does find it amusing and his tail flicks to one side as they exit the store. ]

I'm thinking a pasta carbonara.

[ Calm down. ]

[ Dokja follows along, and this time with no hesitation does he retake that hand into his own with a light tug. As though to meet him eye to eye he leans in with an almost squint of his eyes. ]

No tomatoes?

[ Stop mean to him. ]

[ Joonghyuk doesn't say anything when Dokja snatches his hand again. If anything, he holds onto it the same way he did before, like it naturally belongs here. He does look to Dokja when he squints at him. ]

Some tomatoes.

[ Not a lot. ]

Joonghyuk-aaah.

[ Dokja is not below whining. How could you do this to him? He's not at all focused on their surroundings when the bridge comes into view. ]

You are a cruel and unjust companion. [ Some tomatoes... disgusting. How dare you. There's nothing he can do if it's in the sauce but if there's pieces of it? He's picking them off 100%. ]

[ Joonghyuk shoots him a leer, not at all yielding to the whining infant. ]

It'll still be delicious. [ You think he can't make tomatoes tasty?? ] You need to stop being picky.

[ You! Are an adult man! Before they know it, they wandered to Ables. ]

[ X to doubt. Before he realizes it, his mouth opens and runs off as it is so well used to. ] Shouldn't a boyfriend be more understanding?

[ ..Wait. Dokja freezes as he realizes what it is that he said, quickly correcting himself. It was never really discussed between the two of them when he thinks about it. What was there exactly to discuss though? Did it need a label? Would that change anything? ..No, it wouldn't. ] A companion.

[ At least they're at the shop now, his free hand reaching to take hold of the door. ]

You're not a child.

[ He's understanding when it matters! Tomatoes won't kill Dokja, so he will have to eat them. When they enter, the hedgehog greets them and shows their line of featured clothes!

There's a dressing room, too. They can check out the other items in there. ]

Get whatever you need.

You're hurting my feelings, you know that?

[ Not really. But he's still gonna be picky. For a moment he regards the catalog.. there's a lot to choose from. One ear flicks at the door, musing. ]

Are you offering to pay? [ He hasn't found anything to wear but he's shoving this into Joonghyuk's hands and pushing him towards the dressing room. ] You should try things on too.
