Weather: All Week - Clear Skies...?

A New Week

Another Monday is here, and that means another round of weekly announcements. You haven’t had any strange dreams since that odd one on Friday evening, but some of you can’t help but feel something…familiar stirring up inside of you. Some kind of energy, some kind of power…

But before you can think too much on it, your train of thought is interrupted by Tom Nook’s voice booming over the speakers again, as per usual.

“Good morning, everyone! Happy fifth week on the island, yes, yes! I have a very special announcement for you today, and that’s that the museum will be open starting on Wednesday! We are currently detailing where to lay out the plot, and you will see another construction area tomorrow. We’ll most likely have it near Able Sisters for ease of convenience. I’m very pleased with our two new establishments!”

He claps delightedly to himself. Tom Nook seems very pleased with how the island is coming along so far!

“Next, please give a warm welcome to our new neighbor, Raymond! Raymond is working as the Able Sisters’ accountant, though he is a little confused about the number of clocks in his house… Ah, but I digress. I’m very happy that we’ve filled up all three of our villager plots!”

Snake, Audie, and Raymond...what an interesting trio. One who enjoys working on his muscles, one who loves fashion, and one who crunches numbers.

“And finally,” Tom Nook continues, “while I don’t have much for you all this week, I am curious about something. I’d like to know how the Meteor Shower went for all of you! It was your first one, no? I hope your wishes will come true!”

Little does he know...some of them already have. Perhaps they will continue to, too, throughout the week.

After the morning announcements, you may notice that there has been a new posting on the bulletin board. Upon closer inspection, the new posting is from no one other than Snake himself!

His posting is as follows:

Hey hey! I’m CRAZY excited about living here on Isle Sonrisa, where the biggest attractions are my biceps! I wanna build up my muscles even more, so can you help me with something?

I want as many barbells as I can get! Yep, no limit, just give me everything you’ve got! You know where to find me, and I’ll give anyone who gives me a barbell a special surprise! Thanks!

P.S. If anyone wants to arm wrestle sometime, give me a ring! I’ll be right there in a jiffy!

[ See? Dokja has some good taste. Of course he thinks that Yoo Joonghyuk could probably wear anything and somehow make it work? ]

It's fine, I can pay for us today. [ Joonghyuk paid for groceries so, only fair. ] Hmmm.. I'm not sure yet.

[ He does find a fox mask though to which he puts on as his tail swishes behind him. ] They have a much wider collection than I thought.

[ His nose scrunches when he sees the fox mask? Put that down. You don't need that. ]

Some of these are costumes.

[ But he'll go into the dressing room and change into what Dokja gave him. When he comes out, he checks how it looks himself. Cozy, though maybe too cozy for the weather. ]

[ It looks cool? He takes it off, ears flickering atop his head as he moves to return the mask to its previous display. ]

They are. But, not all of them.

[ He waits for Joonghyuk to get changed and when he's out.. he admires how it looks. ..It looks really good. Like, stupid good? Before he realizes it, he's already running a hand along the fabric. ] How's it feel?

[ Joonghyuk does a small spin to see how the outfit flows, then walks a bit and then back. How does it feel?

Based on his expression which hasn't changed, it's satisfactory. The wag of his tail says he likes it, though. ]

Acceptable.

[ ... ]

Are you going to buy a costume?

[ Dokja offers a mock applause! ]

I think so. [ Really, Joonghyuk looks closer to a model than a pro gamer. Unfair. ]

..Why would I buy a costume? [ What do you think he's here for?? ] I'm looking for comfortable clothes too.

[ A particular porcupine seems to think she knows his taste! She got some really good insight? Well, Dokja won't turn it down, though he hardly gets to see what it is until he's pushed into the dressing room now with said recommended clothes.

A minute goes by... silence. Eventually, Dokja's voice sounds but he doesn't leave the dressing room. ] ..Yoo Joonghyuk. [ He might sound nervous. ] Can you quickly get something else for me to try on, this is no good.

[ Joonghyuk is kind of curious, but... He fetches something better for Dokja to wear. It's a simple cardigan and shirt. A bit big! Importantly it's cozy and doesn't trap too much heat.

However, instead of holding it out in front of the dressing room, he enters it to give Dokja his clothes without warning. Here. He got it for you— ]

It can't be that bad.

[ Is it?! ]

[ No response comes, but he does hear footsteps? He's relieved.. thank you, Yoo Joonghyuk. He probably needs to take back all the bad things he's said about you? To save his pride, his honor like this.. he really does owe you--

Except now Joonghyuk is coming into the dressing room and he almost yells, but more or less yelps as he's covering most of himself with his fluffy white fox-like tail. It doesn't hide everything. ]

It IS bad!! Why are you in here?! Get out! [ And now he's rambling as though he'll explain himself. ] Changing into clothes is almost an immediate function with how this world works so I didn't think much at first- then maybe assumed there was more to it until I realized it and-- Can you give me the other clothes? [ The red of his cheeks could almost engulf the white of his ears if one imagined. ]

[ Joonghyuk has the clothes in his hand, just held out like he's waiting for someone to take it from him. His expression? Eyes narrow, eyebrows set into a flat line, and the ends of his lips twitch as he takes in the sight before him.

If he thinks about it, it does suit Dokja? Kind of? Yet at the same time, seeing him like this makes him feel weird. Unsure if pissed off or confused. Maybe both? Why would Dokja want to ever show this much leggy? ]

... I thought you loved this dress.

[ Yes, he's bullying him. ]

[ Well since it's there, Dokja takes those clothes but doesn't change right away. How can he? With Yoo Joonghyuk just standing there? Rather, why is he staring at him so intently like that.. or even for that long?! The fluff of his tail puffs out in response and one hand pulls uselessly at the ends of the dress as if that will somehow lengthen the dress. ]

I don't. I really.. really don't. [ He doesn't want to show off this much leggy okay?! He's avoided wearing shorts even on the island. Always sticking with pants and clothes in general that doesn't show off too much skin. Especially this much. ]

Are you enjoying this? [ Stop bullying him?? ]

I've never seen you this uncomfortable before.

[ His frown deepens at the accusation. He has seen Dokja mildly uncomfortable, but more often dying than anything. Don't blame him for being shook to his core and staring for a bit? Black ears flatten as his tail lashes back and forth. ]

It's not like there's anything to see. [ Joonghyuk has a man's body, too. Then he used to be able to turn into a woman. Calm down. ] I'll wait outside.

[ Bye. Now he's getting pestered by the hedgehog if he likes what he saw. ]

Would you prefer to wear it?

[ Well, Dokja imagines he would probably feel more embarrassed were it anyone else, but it could be because it's who it is he feels the heightened embarrassment. His cheeks burn, his hand leaving the dress to rub at his face as his tail conveniently hides himself to the best of his ability.

He twitches at that statement and a hand raises to smack the leaving form. ] Then why did you stare so much!? [ He is baby. Stop mean. ]

[ At least now he can change into new clothes, which he actually leaves with them on to inspect the cardigan and shirt, with simple pants on instead of exposed leggies. The pink hasn't left his cheeks as he sighs out. ] Are you finished?

[ You think he would entertain your stupid questions? No. Joonghyuk doesn't want to wear it and he's allowed to stare whenever he wants. Idiot. As Dokja fusses with his change of dress, Joonghyuk browses and picks out some stuff. ]

I picked out a couple of shirts.

[ Which he's holding. Yes, he's finished. ]

Is that all you're getting?

Hmm.. [ Dokja skims around for a bit, browsing himself and picks a few things out after another look around. ]

Yeah. I'm fine with this. [ He inspects an article here and there, before he asks Mabel to total it up so he can pay. Like he said he would! With that settled, he dumps his clothes into his pockets and his tail shakes as though to get rid of earlier moments' embarrassment. ] We should head back home to put away the groceries.

[ It's almost as if Nothing Happened. ]

[ He's well aware of Dokja's wardrobe, considering he organizes storage. It's summer, quite warm, and he knows the other man is lacking in seasonal appropriate attire. ]

You should at least get shorts.

[ Joonghyuk isn't moving yet. Get those shorts, even if you paid for them already. ]

[ Dokja makes a face at that. ]

I don't need them. I've been managing fine without.

[ Excuse me.. you're blocking the way? Ears fold back, tail swishing. ]

[ Joonghyuk's tail also swishes when he notices Dokja trying to glare? Him down? Do you think that's possible when Joonghyuk is the king of glaring? Tilting his head back a bit, he looms over him even though their height difference isn't large. ]

The heat will only get worse, Kim Dokja.

[ He continues to be in the way. ]

[ Ears fold into black hair as he takes note of the way his companion straightens up. Of course when the man becomes intimidating, Dokja can't avoid any chills he may feel due to it. Doesn't mean he won't try and ignore it. ]

There's always staying indoors, Yoo Joonghyuk.

[ Suppose at this point it shouldn't be that much of an issue if he shows some skin but after what just happened he's feeling somewhat self conscious. He would like to leave the store so he steps closer rather than away despite the immobile man. Move already, you stupid sunfish. ]

[ All that happens is Dokja steps closer. Joonghyuk doesn’t yield at all... The ends of his lips twitch as his tail finally stops swishing, now merely pointed out.

The hedgehogs look concerned? But they’ll give them a minute or two to resolve before they say anything? ]

You need sunlight.

[ Back at home, at times Joonghyuk would think Dokja was a ghost—not because of his complicated relationship with death, but his pale skin. ]

As an introvert, I can do without.

[ Why is Yoo Joonghyuk so strangely bent on this? It doesn't make any sense to him? What does it matter if Dokja is outdoors or not, whether he chooses to wear more clothes that covers him than expose some skin.

Arms come to a cross, tail hanging low with only the ends of it twitching side to side. What a couple of stubborn customers these hedgehogs have on their hands... paws? ]

[ Joonghyuk is pedantic in stupid ways. Dokja should know by now. ]

You lack vitamin D.

[ Seolhwa told him. Yes, he asked about the health of everyone and he remembers their deficiencies. ]

Shorts are more efficient in this weather.

[ Oh he knows, but to make this much trouble about it here.. ]

Isn't that a matter better fixed back home?

[ Lips press together afterwards. Maybe he should complain about it some more, then eventually cave in knowing he wasn't going to win against Yoo Joonghyuk. That would have been better.

However, he thinks about them returning home quite often enough. He'll lose that consistent warmth. He glances at the area behind the other man outside, the glimpses of sun he can see through those clear skies. ]

[ ... Doja is aware, so Joonghyuk simmers down a bit. The hedgehogs were going to intervene? However, maybe this will work out? ]

It's better to get into the habit early.

[ He's glad that companion is going out more, taking in more sun. Not sure if it's enough, but it's something. ]

Fine, fine.

[ Stubborn bastard. Dokja looks around, grabbing the nearest shorts that seem decent enough to work with and asks for Mabel to ring it up as well. After he passes her the bells, he's stuffing that as well in his pockets.

Afterwards, he raises a brow at him. ] Happy?

[ ... He doesn't say anything, but based on the wag of his tail. Yes. He's happy. What he does do is exit the shop. ]

[ That tail of his.. Dokja can't help but gently smack it as he follows after. ]

I'm starting to get hungry, so let's head back. Want me to help cook so it gets done a little faster?
