Week 4
Weather: Monday AM & PM - Clear Skies; Tuesday - Thursday AM Cloudy, PM Rainy; Friday - Clear Skies
- The Meteor Shower
On Monday, there are, in your mailboxes, passports for those who happened to not pick them up when the airport opened. Hold onto these--they’re important, after all! Open them up, and you’ll find not only a title, your name, and your hometown, but you’ll also find…
A blank page? That’s right. There’s a page in the back of the admittedly small passport with only one thing on it: a space that looks like it has room for a star stamp. Huh. That’s strange, isn’t it? There are no hints as to what it could be about, but maybe the announcement will shed some light.
There’s also, like last week, a familiar face around the island… it’s Audie! Come around to her house to say hi--she’s very excited to be here, and very fashionably dressed as she strolls around the island.
And like clockwork, at nine AM, Tom Nook makes his announcement once more:
“Good morning, Isla Sonrisa! A few things this morning. Please give a warm welcome to our new neighbor, Audie!”
Audie smiles and waves at you all with both paws--she’s pretty flattered at the warm response. Tom Nook continues--
“We have for you the ability to build bridges now! Yes, yes, these will prove very useful indeed. Of course, you will most likely have to work together to figure out the best places to put these bridges, as we have only a limited number… But I am sure working together will be little trouble for you all! The only thing to note is that each bridge will come with a construction fee of 15,000 bells each. Consider working together to get some bridges up and running...?”
He pauses, and the next part comes with some measure of almost… not quite dismay, but there’s a certain cloud over the tanuki: “It also seems Iori and Mira have also left the island… Again, we’re looking into it, and should any discoveries come to light, I will tell you immediately.”
He nods to himself, and continues on--
“Next, I’d like to tell you all we have a very special event tonight… a meteor shower! Yes, yes, starting at 7 PM, we will have clear skies and many stars to wish upon. Who knows--maybe your wishes will all come true!” He says that with a bright smile, almost like he really believes it… Or maybe that’s just his quiet optimism? Anyway, he continues--
“Finally, I’d like to thank you all for your hard work in making items for our new friends! Yes, yes, you all have been working so hard to create furniture and items for our housing plots, but this week, I invite you all to put your best DIY skills to the test! There are no specific style requirements in mind, but please make sure our potential new friend has:
1 Table
2 Dressers
1 Clock
2 Chairs
Of course, if you’d like to make more, I am sure our friend will not be opposed…” He pauses, and seems to remember something! “Ah, yes, we are very close to opening our museum… I am sure Blathers would appreciate any bugs, fish, or fossils regardless! Hmm… Yes, that is all I have for you! Thank you once more for your hard work, and have a wonderful day!”
Possible Objectives
1. Help Tom Nook prepare a housing plot for the last villager house.
2. Donate more specimens to Blathers.
3. Attend the meteor shower, if you so desire. There may be some secrets waiting for you...
4. Make a money pool for some bridges.
Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday / Friday

[ Stars always make you feel small in the grand scheme of things.
It's evening, and Laurent can be seen sitting on the garden bench in various places, whether it's by the beach, by your house, by the river... Anywhere, but his own house. He's been moving around a lot with that garden bench. He's always looking up at the sky all the time and wonders if he should invest in a salonpas for his neck if that even exists on this island.
When you pass by or decide to sit on the bench next to him, he'll quietly ask with a small smile: ]
Would it be too egotistical to think they shine for us?
II
[ It's past midnight. It might as well be 1-4AM. Laurent has been listlessly walking around the island with a gas lantern all this time. He is not up to his usual shenanigans, but he might have walked around the same place at least twice by now. Maybe he just doesn't want to go home. Maybe he's just out for a late night stroll. Who knows? He seems to be having good luck, considering no scorpions attacked him in the dead of night. He can either be seen at the beach, tossing something into the ocean or around the island as usual. ]
I pwaceholder
[ Of course, one star in particular would say they shine for their companions. Dokja provides a friendly smile in return as he sits beside him, not paying too close attention to the stars above. With how many weeks that have gone by he's use to the silence. ]
It might be different here though.

Would it be enough for you to make a wish upon them, mister ancient star?
no subject
[ Lips twitch, looking almost embarrassed. ] I'm not sure why they went with that kind of title.
As for your question, I rather see to my wishes myself than hope on a star they happen.
no subject
That's how it usually is, isn't it: only you can realize your own wishes through your own efforts. Though, it's not bad every once in a while, to make flimsy wishes just because on a shooting star.
no subject
No, it's not. I certainly don't blame anyone for wanting to. [ Looking up at sight of those stars twinkling above has his head tilting. ] Of course, back home, the stars in the sky represented Constellations. Wishing on them was pointless.
no subject
[ He doesn't think very highly of higher existences either, and it shows with how he talks about them... ]

ii, around the island
Hi, Laurent-san! Did you make any wishes?
no subject
Hey, Serval. I did. How about you?
no subject
no subject
[ He makes note to find Minato later. ]
I wished that my uncle would live a good, healthy life. It's the least I can do for him from here.

[ Laurent's voice trails off. He wants to mention that maybe he only does that to people he actually cares about, but he decides that Serval doesn't really need that sort of thing. ]
... he's family, after all. It's expected for humans, at least.

[She's taking a seat on the bench next to him with a soft smile.]
It's a nice thought.
Re: I
[ He chuckles a little. ]
Hello, Byleth. The sky is nice tonight, don't you think?
no subject
[She glances up at the sky again before glancing over to him.]
It really is. I'm glad the sky's clear... Wouldn't it be terribly unlucky to miss an event like this because of a cloudy sky?
no subject
[ He thinks for a moment. ]
Did you make a wish for your students?
no subject
[She smiles fondly. So of course she wished for at least one of those things.]
no subject
[ Wishes for other people is always nice... ]
How about something for yourself?

...Hey.
[She almost asks what he's doing out, but, well. She's out, too.]
How come people don't say good night as a greeting, huh?
[She keeps pushing forward, until she's standing next to him.]
no subject
Good evening, Miss Adelaide.
[ That's why. ]
no subject
[She wraps her arms around herself, pulling the cardigan closer.]
But it's weird to say good morning, too.
no subject
[ He laughs a little. ]
Are you cold? I can lend you a jacket.
no subject
[She laughs, more of a giggle, really, and she shakes her head.]
Eh, I'll be fine. Just... Y'know. Tryin' to stay cozy.
no subject
[ He looks up at the sky. The shooting stars are still out and about every now and then. ]
Maybe I wished for some late night company.
