Weather: Cloudy Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday AM and rainy PM; clear skies Thursday and Friday AM, slightly cloudy PM

Arrival

A full week has come and gone, and you may be left with more questions than answers. There’s no word on the progress of figuring out how to get all of you home just yet -- you only have the land, an abandoned sea plane, your new homes and a garden to get you through this upcoming week.

...So far, that is.

Come Monday at nine AM though, Tom Nook does his morning announcements once more. Seems like he has something new for you to work with:

“Good morning, Isle Sonrisa! Great news -- we now have a grocery store up and running for everyone! The grocery store is located right about House #5, and it has a wide selection of foods and ingredients for you to choose from. While we’re still mailing kitchen equipment over to all of you, food shouldn’t be a problem any longer. The grocery store will be run by my apprentices…Timmy and Tommy!

We also have tulips in stock, now! Red, white, and yellow are our only colors, but I've heard that sometimes watering them next to one another may give you new colors. Perhaps you can try that out yourselves, yes?”

He’s very happy about this announcement. He knows how much you all wanted your food, after all! Time to continue with the announcements, though:

“The only other thing I have for you this morning is very, very important. I know there are many of you here on the island already, but assuming that most of you will be going back home, we need to get more permanent residents on the island. Yes, yes. Permanent residents from this world who may be interested in experiencing life on an island!

What I’m asking all of you to do is to prepare housing plots for our new residents. I’ve already designated areas on the island for them, and as such, your Nook Phones now have a map app so you can see where the new land plots will be. Yes, yes. Now, to prepare the first housing plot… I need the following:

1 Log Dining Table
1 Log Extra-long Sofa
1 Log Decorative Shelves
1 Log Wall-mounted Clock

If none of you have a DIY for any item in particular, I’ll go ahead and send the DIY recipe for it to your phones. It will show up in all of your DIY apps.”

He smiles at everyone with his trademark tanuki grin.

“And that’s about all I have for you today! Good luck, everyone!”



Possible Objectives

1. Help Tom Nook prepare a housing plot for a potential new resident!
2. Stock up on food and cook for yourselves and your fellow residents.

In case none of you have had any experiences with Scorpions as of late... consider yourself lucky. They're quite capable of blacking someone out. With that said, I suggest being careful when walking around at night.

Especially if it's raining. I can't remember the last time I caught a cold.. If anyone needs an umbrella, I do happen to have a spare.

[ Umbrella can be given to the first person who asks if anyone wants one-- otherwise yeah, he's sick. ]

Looks like he's doing a good job of being a prison guard.

I do regret not leaving some medicine with you last night... though I assume he's getting that too?

How lucky for me.

That's alright, as far as I was aware I thought the medicine provided by Tom Nook was only related to wasp and maybe potentially scorpion stings. As for that guy.. probably.

Maybe you'll forgive me for being presumptuous, but seeing as we didn't find a sting on you when I found you last night, I can only wonder. If it is effective, I wonder if the resident doctor can whip up something like a vaccine.

It's alright, I understand. It can probably work but someone did offer for me to experiment something so.. if that doesn't work, there's still the medicine here.

How late at night was it/where did you see it? I'm interested in catching one when the opportunity arises.

...Tangentially, I've just started working on some medicines here, but if you're interested in being a volunteer for some early-stage testing, we can arrange for that. No guarantees, of course.

It was sometime after 7pm. I wasn't too close to the Residential service, closer to the grocery store and houses 4 and 5.

Well, it isn't as if I have anything to lose so it's worth a try.

[ I mean, what's the worst that can happen? Die? hahaha... wait. ]

Sure. I'm over at house two, so bring it by whenever.

[ Cool. He's not going to rush over, but give it an hour and he'll eventually show up to knock on the door. ]

[ It takes a few minutes, but Dokja does get to the door with a blanket bundled tightly around him and the image of.. well, being sick! He blinks a few until it seems to hit him as his thoughts slowly catch up. ]

Ah, hello. Are you here about the medicine?

[transfusionem]

Were you out in the rain without an umbrella even though you have spares?

[dokja...]

[ listen... ]

I left them at the house, since I didn't think I would stay outside for too long. A little rain isn't too bad. Except it is when a scorpion happens.

[transfusionem]

Haven't you heard of always expect the unexpected and always be prepared?

But asides from that, are you doing okay? Do you need anything? I could bring over some soup.

Something along those lines but even then the slightest change can still be unexpected.

Oh, I'm fine. There's nothing to worry about. Thank you, though. [ Someone concerned over his well-being? Dokja is not use to such a thing. Even his companions back home have to deal with his stubbornness. he's an idiot ]

Right.

Sure.

I'll be over in an hour, okay?

[She doesn't have TIME for this "oh I'm really okay don't worry about me as I don't take care of myself" nonsense, even if she's not sure he's the type. It's just, you know. Most people she's met are that type.]

[ Wait what-- ]

I'm fine, really! I should be better by tomorrow. It isn't that bad.

[regression]

[ Guess who's coming into the room with a bowl of rice porridge, a big staple for the sick and needy that is, currently, Kim Dokja. It smells good! Delicious! If only Joonghyuk's expression is as homely and warm. His tail whips behind him as he approaches his companion who's resting on the bed. ]

You would go and publicize your illness to the entire world.

[ UnHappy. ]

Would you have preferred I kept quiet about it?

[ Ah, but he sits up in the bed, feeling the blankets slide a little off his shoulders from where he was laying with the NookPhone. It's disregarded to the side for now- he'll answer later. Ears quiver atop his head, tail swishing beneath the blankets with excited wags. It smells.. really good. He's more hungry than he realizes. ]

[regression]

You could have only told me.

[ And he thinks that's enough. Once he's right beside Dokja, he presents him with his bowl. Quite a masterpiece despite being something as simple as rice porridge. His tail wags a bit, as usual preening over his work. Joonghyuk has always been proud of his cooking... ]

Are you able to feed yourself?

And what happens if you get sick too?

[ Dokja muses back, then there would be two useless sick people. Carefully he inches closer, his head is still swimming and moving too fast makes him easily dizzy but he's still the picture of excitement. ]

Are you offering to feed me? [ Though Dokja gives an expectant look, it's mostly all joking. He's expecting a "No" and for him to straight up leave with a pissed off look on his face. Though he does feel a little weak he thinks he should be able to handle feeding himself. ]

[regression]

[ Joonghyuk's threat of killing Dokja rests on his tongue. The answer of "no" is also there, but they both know that he will feed him if he has to. He won't get coins, but there's an important reason still. ]

If you can't properly feed yourself, you'll make a mess on the bed.

[ That's the reasoning. ]
