Week 2
Weather: Cloudy Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday AM and rainy PM; clear skies Thursday and Friday AM, slightly cloudy PM
- Arrival
A full week has come and gone, and you may be left with more questions than answers. There’s no word on the progress of figuring out how to get all of you home just yet -- you only have the land, an abandoned sea plane, your new homes and a garden to get you through this upcoming week.
...So far, that is.
Come Monday at nine AM though, Tom Nook does his morning announcements once more. Seems like he has something new for you to work with:
“Good morning, Isle Sonrisa! Great news -- we now have a grocery store up and running for everyone! The grocery store is located right about House #5, and it has a wide selection of foods and ingredients for you to choose from. While we’re still mailing kitchen equipment over to all of you, food shouldn’t be a problem any longer. The grocery store will be run by my apprentices…Timmy and Tommy!
We also have tulips in stock, now! Red, white, and yellow are our only colors, but I've heard that sometimes watering them next to one another may give you new colors. Perhaps you can try that out yourselves, yes?”
He’s very happy about this announcement. He knows how much you all wanted your food, after all! Time to continue with the announcements, though:
“The only other thing I have for you this morning is very, very important. I know there are many of you here on the island already, but assuming that most of you will be going back home, we need to get more permanent residents on the island. Yes, yes. Permanent residents from this world who may be interested in experiencing life on an island!
What I’m asking all of you to do is to prepare housing plots for our new residents. I’ve already designated areas on the island for them, and as such, your Nook Phones now have a map app so you can see where the new land plots will be. Yes, yes. Now, to prepare the first housing plot… I need the following:
1 Log Dining Table
1 Log Extra-long Sofa
1 Log Decorative Shelves
1 Log Wall-mounted Clock
If none of you have a DIY for any item in particular, I’ll go ahead and send the DIY recipe for it to your phones. It will show up in all of your DIY apps.”
He smiles at everyone with his trademark tanuki grin.
“And that’s about all I have for you today! Good luck, everyone!”
Possible Objectives
1. Help Tom Nook prepare a housing plot for a potential new resident!
2. Stock up on food and cook for yourselves and your fellow residents.
3. More to come this week...
NOTE: The map app will have a picture map that correlates to the one on the Locations page. There will be a list of resident names when you click on the tents. The map on the locations page will be updated OOCly later on Monday night.
(OOC: Welcome to Week 2! A reminder that Mod Coco who plays Tom Nook has work and will not be able to NPC throughout the week. Please direct all questions to the FAQ under the Week 2 top level.
Here's this week's Weekly Plotting Post for you all to use!
As always, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to let us know! Have fun!)

I left them at the house, since I didn't think I would stay outside for too long. A little rain isn't too bad. Except it is when a scorpion happens.
no subject
But asides from that, are you doing okay? Do you need anything? I could bring over some soup.
no subject
Oh, I'm fine. There's nothing to worry about. Thank you, though. [ Someone concerned over his well-being? Dokja is not use to such a thing. Even his companions back home have to deal with his stubbornness.
he's an idiot]no subject
Sure.
I'll be over in an hour, okay?
[She doesn't have TIME for this "oh I'm really okay don't worry about me as I don't take care of myself" nonsense, even if she's not sure he's the type. It's just, you know. Most people she's met are that type.]
no subject
I'm fine, really! I should be better by tomorrow. It isn't that bad.
no subject
[Sorry Dokja, there's no getting out of this.
In roughly an hour, Adelaide is knocking on the door to his home, not apologetic in the slightest.]
no subject
[ It proves pointless clearly, because not only does he get no response but also there's a knock at the door. When Dokja opens it, he isn't terribly awful looking, more than usual anyways. He's always been pale, with notable dark circles under his eyes but he's got a blanket wrapped tightly around him. ]
Oh. You weren't joking. [ He says in a tease! Because he. Didn't actually expect her to be doing this. ]
no subject
Of course I wasn't!
[Please, let her have this. She is so bored.]
no subject
[ He gestures to where shoes are neatly set aside even as he's shooed back in. Slowly, he makes his way over to the group of log chairs set by a log table. ] You didn't need to force yourself, but.. thank you.
[ It's said a little awkward, as if he's not use to the treatment. ]
no subject
Doing something I want to do isn't forcing myself to do anything.
[Said in a very "don't be a dumbass" kind of way.]
I know you said you weren't that sick, but... Y'know, things can always change.
no subject
Fair enough.
[ He's being bullied? Dokja laughs a little, showing a sleepy smile. ]
Well, we have a doctor on the island, so I should only get better from here, right? [ Least that's the.. plan. ]
no subject
I mean... You'd hope for that, yeah.
[She sets down a pot on the table with flourish, because she didn't have anything else with a lid.]
But if you're not a dumbass then...Yeah. Prognosis is probably good.
no subject
[ Why does it feel like he just got called a dumbass? ] Well I plan to mostly stay in bed and not go out in any more rain anytime soon.
[ But he curiously peeks at the pot. Technically, Joonghyuk was planning on making food soon once he was back from a trip to the garden so it should be fine if he eats this for now, right? He can feel his appetite coming back at the smell. ] Smells good.
no subject
That's good!
[She preens a bit at the compliment.]
It's a pretty simple soup, but... It should still be alright! Now... Where do you keep your bowls?
no subject
Ah, there should be some.. over by the counter in the kitchen. [ He gestures towards the kitchen. Joonghyuk had begun some preparations before he took a quick leave but it's fine if they use some bowls now. Dokja will wash them after use. ]
no subject
She grabs a bowl - and a spoon! - and comes back to serve Dokja before taking a seat herself.]
Feel free to tell me if it tastes awful.
no subject
Ah, thanks. And I'll.. keep it in mind. [ However, he's polite enough that he just may not. He holds the bowl close and seems pleased with the warmth of it. It's comforting to hold but he'll take a careful spoonful. ] How have things been for you lately?
