Weather: Saturday AM and PM - cloudy and warm. Sunday AM - rainy, PM - cloudy.
- The Move-In
You’ve spent the week adjusting to island life by getting to know one another, figuring out what to do with all those presents, gathering your resources and selling them off to Tom Nook. The weekend is finally here, though, and that’s something to celebrate!
...But when you wake up on Saturday, whenever that may be, the environment you’re in is not the tent you remember falling asleep in. Rather, you’re inside of some kind of house with a white wall and ceiling, wood lined across the bottom of the walls. The floor is wood, too, shiny and glossy as the sun rays shine through the one window in your house. Whatever you had lying out in your tents is still arranged in the same general order you had your things in before. Furthermore, you’re still lying on your camping cots with the same people who fell asleep in the tent with you, but if you decide to get up and investigate, you’ll find two other rooms other than the one you’re in.
Facing the door from the inside, if you look to your left, you’ll find...a bathroom! It’s got a basic toilet, sink, and a bathtub with a showerhead for you to use. There are also enough bath towels for each person hanging on a towel rack. The walls are white but the floor in here is tiled instead of wooden. The room across the bathroom, however, is empty. It has the same wallpaper and flooring as the main room you found yourself in.
It’s a small, comfy place you’re staying in, but the real question is… When did this happen? Only one way to find out.
And sure enough, if you’re awake by nine AM, Tom Nook will rally everyone to Resident Services for his morning announcements.
“Good morning, everyone, and welcome to your first weekend on Isle Sonrisa! As you’ve all probably already noticed by now, we were able to upgrade your tents last night into houses! Don’t worry, there is no fee for this upgrade -- but now you finally have a place where you can decorate your house with all the furniture you were able to get in the mail. For any excess items you may have… Might I suggest a yard sard of some sort, hm?”
He tilts his head a little. He thinks this is a good idea!
“Alternatively, houses all come with storage. There’s a small little storage shed in the back of everyone’s houses that can fit many, many items. If you don’t want to sell your items to me or hand them off to someone else, you can store them inside of there.”
Tom Nook nods his head. “Yes, yes. I’d like to suggest that you all take this weekend to decide how to arrange the items you’ve gotten in the mail...and one more thing about those items: You can put them outside, too. For example, oh, an exercise area might be nice…” He sounds a little wistful when he says it, but promptly shakes his head afterwards.
“Ah-! Before I forget...erm… It seems as though one of our friends has unexpectedly left the island. We don’t know where or how he left, you see...but Heimdall is no longer here. We’re still working on figuring out a way to send you all home, and we’re trying to track him down, too.”
He looks very guilty about that, at least. But the moment passes, and he perks up again, smiling at everyone as best as he can. “Alright, that’s it! You can spend the weekend however you’d like to, but with your new homes being built and all the furniture some of you have received, well… It may be a good idea to work on that, no?”

[ For all he knows, sharks could mistake the seaplane as some awkward seal to munch on. ]

[ They're papercut slices on his hand and nothing too deep, as far as he can see, so they'll heal up once they're dry. He blows on it a little. ]

[ Then he'll resume rowing... if actual sharks come, Laurent will surely make them submit. Somehow. ]

If there are sharks and we catch one... we'd be able to feed everybody for a while. No need to overfish... if that's possible. Been talking to some people worried about messing up the ocean and plants and stuff.

[ It's like the magic of convenience is wrapped all around this island, and Laurent can't help but to feel uneasy sometimes when he actually thinks about it. ]
Shark is hard to prepare, but they also sell for thousands of bells.

...I thought Tom Nook was a pretty shrewd businessman. We provide labor. Receive currency with no worth in return. But then he turns around and makes houses appear out of nowhere... I can't figure it out.

[ He manages to get the seaplane a little further away and just to spite whatever is lurking underwater, he wanted to jab at one of them with the umbrella. But. Are they gone now?? ]
And he did say we'd be getting a surprise with the bells, so they'll be worth something eventually.

[ All about practicality. Laurent gets out a flimsy fishing rod and casts a line into the water. You know. Just in case. ]

[ Laurent smiles. He remembers that two truths and one lie game. Fascinating people. ]
I suppose, but if there's an easier method of obtaining things, I'd welcome it.
[ There's a bite and Laurent reels in the line and... it's a horse mackerel. Okay, cool. He stuffs that into his pocket. ]
Looks like the water is safe.

Yeah, I'll pull you up at 55 seconds. If you see a shark, give the string a sharp tug.

[ Down he goes again, feeling the light and sounds smother around him as the water covers his head, bangs pulled up away from his eyes. He takes a quick glance around, twisting one way and then the other looking for sharks but not spotting any- yet- careful to keep his bearings so he doesn't get turned around underwater as he swims forward until he feels the rope just about pull taut, so Laurent will be able to feel if Minato tugs sharply at it.
The water goes on forever. Heavy pressure on all sides. A certain weightlessness.
Thirty seconds in, the rope goes slack again, and a rush of bubbles breaks the surface. ]

It feels like one of the longest minutes in his life--not even since it was just thirty seconds in. When he sees a bunch of bubbles at the surface, Laurent immediately pulls on the string in an attempt to bring Minato up to the surface. ]

no. A cough interrupts the lie and he can't even get that out, taking Laurent's hand and helping himself up before staring out across the sea. ]
I'm... not sure. I ran into something, but there was nothing there. Sorry, I got surprised, and let go of my breath.

[ He is reaching for his knapsack, and from inside it, his axe. ]

And... that sure is an axe.
And that sure is Laurent not moving to prevent Minato from attacking the wall with it if he chooses to. Surely. ]

The barrier remains intact, as far as any of them can tell. ]

When Minato falls into the water, Laurent pulls him back up with the power of the string that keeps them together aka he just reels him back up. ]
Looks like it won't break. Not even a drill would be able to pierce this thing from what I see.
[ But they have seaplanes here, so that's an assumption that it could bypass the invisible wall, but they're sitting on it right now and it's not letting them through. Not that Laurent wanted to leave anyway, but this sure is peculiar... ]

Ugh... You can tell just by looking?
[ There's doubt in Minato's voice, because there's no way he can equate a drill to Minato's attempts at hacking his way through it. The other planes are only on his mind, though, and he glances upwards. ]
Might not extend all the up. Or all the way down.
