Weather: Clear skies all weekend

On Saturday, there’s nothing new or unusual. It seems like the wish granting has been put on hold, and your efforts can continue to go towards progressing the island more. With the museum, Able Sisters, the entertainment area, the garden and more, the amount of development Isle Sonrisa has gone through is crystal clear when you compare it to your first week here.

All seems to be normal. That is, until you decide to fall asleep.

Whenever you begin to dream, your dreams are very vivid and reminiscent of the time you all dreamt about your homes. This time, however, you see your fellow islanders around you. Everyone may look confused, trying to figure out where they are. And that’s entirely fair, because where you are now is a little different from the island you’re used to.

That power you felt earlier in the week feels strong, too. It feels natural. And when you channel your energy…

Those of you who had powers originally will feel them start to manifest. Every ability you had is coming back. They seem a little...dampened, though, like they aren’t the full extent of what you could do before. Those who did not have abilities before will start to feel in tune with whatever’s on their person, whether it be a shovel, a bug net, even a stack of apples… You’ll be able to use them in ways you couldn’t have before.

And maybe you’ll learn how to use that new ability soon, because someone is waiting on top of one of the ledges, staring down at all of you. And he is staring very, very intensely at you. A moment passes, and then he hops down...and swings his net at the nearest person.

Strangely, if the target is you, it doesn’t hurt. You feel the boink land, but it doesn’t hurt at all. Should you choose to retaliate, no matter what you do, the boy does not seem to be in pain either. Now’s the time to experiment with your newfound (or returning) abilities. Mess around with the environment, or go ham on one another! The strangest thing is that you will feel your energy draining the more you use your powers -- which is to be expected -- but the pain never really settles in.

Furthermore, there are no injuries or blood. In fact, every punch, every kick, every impact looks cartoonish!

The last notable thing is for Joonghyuk. If he looks up at the sky at any given moment, he’ll specifically see a shooting star fly across the sky. The wish to have strength is going a little haywire, but it’s certainly something, isn’t it?

As for Sunday, well… It’s worth mentioning that those abilities aren’t just a dream after all. In fact, you feel as though you can use them in real life, too, with the same effect -- the environment can be altered (for instance: super strength means you might be able to lift a tree with your bare hands, with some work) but there are no injuries or pain when you use them on others! … But the strange boy from that dream is nowhere to be found. Huh. Wonder what that was about...

[Serval waves, running up to Dokja, but...?]

...huh? Dokja-san? You didn't have wings and horns before. Wait, is this like how I can jump higher and stuff again now?

Ah, Serval.

[ The black feathery wings lower a little to get a better look at her instead of blocking his vision. Even though said wings feel itchy. ] That's right. This transformation is something I had learned before. Looks like we all regained some more from home.

[She starts to flit around Dokja and looks him over, curiously pawing a wing.]

I wonder how come you're a fox here, then, and not whatever kind of animal this is?

[afterword]

[ A wing twitches at the pawing as though ticklish but otherwise lets her touch with no complaints. ]

Well, back home I was a Demon Lord and this is the appearance that represents it. Though Minato's appearance is interesting when you consider most of our appearances are animals related here. [ Minato seems more like a dragon if he had to name something? ]

Oh, okay! What kind of animal is a Demon Lord? Where's your habitat?

[afterword]

There's a realm usually for demons, but demons aren't actually an animal. [ He brings a wing closer, fingers shifting through some feathers. ] They are a different kind of species. Like how humans are different.

[sugooooooooi]

Aren't humans animals too? Even if they're really special animals.

[afterword]

Not really. At least, not in the same manner of animals that I'm familiar with. ..I guess higher beings might see them as equivalent as animals though.

[sugooooooooi]

I don't get it. I thought everybody was animals.

[afterword]

Well.. [ Wings rustle to fold behind him for now, ignoring the itchiness of the feathers to take hold of a stick and start writing in the dirt. ]

It may be different for other worlds but with my own there's humans. [ There's a stick figure? He's not good at drawing. But he can at least make good diagrams and charts. ] Demons, monsters, Constellations, Dokkaebi, Outer gods..

We're all different "species." [ He boxes everything in. ] That's just for my and Joonghyuk-ah's world. It could be different for yours, like how everyone are animals.

[sugooooooooi]

Huh... I wonder how someone can be something that's not an animal, but still be a species like an animal. My head's spinning a ton. But I guess it doesn't matter, right?

[afterword]

In the end, probably not. So I wouldn't think too much about it. [ He's plucks a loose feather out of his wings and smooths a hand through it once more. ]

But I don't always look like this, even back home. Only when I needed to protect someone or fight. [ He hums at that. ] Not that there is a need to fight here.

[sugooooooooi]

Oh! So it's like releasing your wild side, only for longer!

[afterword]

Wild side? [ His head tilts. ] What's that like?

[sugooooooooi]

Oh, it's when you get stronger for a little while when you're fighting a Cerulean or something! All Friends can do it.

[afterword]

[ For the most part, makes sense but. ] What are Cerulean?

[sugooooooooi]

They're monsters from home. If they eat you, you turn back into the species you used to be before you were a Friend! But don't worry, I've beaten a bunch of them.

[afterword]

That's quite the threat.. so you weren't always like this, Serval? [ How she is now. ]

[sugooooooooi]

I don't remember being an animal, but every Friend was one once! When Sandstar erupts from the volcano on Kyoushuu Island, it creates more Friends when it touches animals. Or part of an animal, like hair or bones. Except it also creates Ceruleans when it touches something else, like rocks or signs.

[afterword]

So when it concerns looking for signs of humans, you're also dealing with Ceruleans while exploring. [ How interesting.. ]

[sugooooooooi]

Uh-huh. Most days we don't find any, but sometimes they show up. And there was a really strong one near the volcano. [She hesitates with a frown.] Even with Kaban-chan coming up with a plan, we all almost died until the Professor came with help. But we beat it in the end, so now the island's safe!

[afterword]

Seems like you've surrounded yourself with very good companions back home. [ It has him thinking of his own, wings shaking and he comes back from his thoughts. ] Thank you for sharing with me, Serval. Would make for a good story to share, don't you think?

[ He shakes his wings as loose feathers start to fall. ] I need to get back to work, but I enjoyed listening.
