Weather: All Week - Clear Skies...?

A New Week

Another Monday is here, and that means another round of weekly announcements. You haven’t had any strange dreams since that odd one on Friday evening, but some of you can’t help but feel something…familiar stirring up inside of you. Some kind of energy, some kind of power…

But before you can think too much on it, your train of thought is interrupted by Tom Nook’s voice booming over the speakers again, as per usual.

“Good morning, everyone! Happy fifth week on the island, yes, yes! I have a very special announcement for you today, and that’s that the museum will be open starting on Wednesday! We are currently detailing where to lay out the plot, and you will see another construction area tomorrow. We’ll most likely have it near Able Sisters for ease of convenience. I’m very pleased with our two new establishments!”

He claps delightedly to himself. Tom Nook seems very pleased with how the island is coming along so far!

“Next, please give a warm welcome to our new neighbor, Raymond! Raymond is working as the Able Sisters’ accountant, though he is a little confused about the number of clocks in his house… Ah, but I digress. I’m very happy that we’ve filled up all three of our villager plots!”

Snake, Audie, and Raymond...what an interesting trio. One who enjoys working on his muscles, one who loves fashion, and one who crunches numbers.

“And finally,” Tom Nook continues, “while I don’t have much for you all this week, I am curious about something. I’d like to know how the Meteor Shower went for all of you! It was your first one, no? I hope your wishes will come true!”

Little does he know...some of them already have. Perhaps they will continue to, too, throughout the week.

After the morning announcements, you may notice that there has been a new posting on the bulletin board. Upon closer inspection, the new posting is from no one other than Snake himself!

His posting is as follows:

Hey hey! I’m CRAZY excited about living here on Isle Sonrisa, where the biggest attractions are my biceps! I wanna build up my muscles even more, so can you help me with something?

I want as many barbells as I can get! Yep, no limit, just give me everything you’ve got! You know where to find me, and I’ll give anyone who gives me a barbell a special surprise! Thanks!

P.S. If anyone wants to arm wrestle sometime, give me a ring! I’ll be right there in a jiffy!

It's a complicated situation.

[So, you know, understandable to still be uncertain.]

Well, I appreciate that much. And, y'know, if there's anything I can do...

[She trails off, not sure what else to say.]

[ Silence descends, leaving the silence between them bridge the gap, but Laurent knows of something better to fill in the empty space. He reaches over for one of the snacks Adelaide brought out. ]

It really is complicated. That's why I don't think I should rush it. At the same time, I want to enjoy myself here.

[ He opens the bag, gets out a cracker and presses it against Adelaide's lips. ]

There are always things you can do for people.

Take your time - but I think enjoying your life here while you can is good.

[Ah, it’s cracker time, apparently. She takes the cracker, taking a moment to chew on it.]

Yeah, but this is about you, specifically.

Why can't it be about both of us?

[ Laurent gives her a quick kiss on the lips and pulls back to sit up probably on the bed. ]

Especially when enjoying myself on the island involves you too.

[The both of them... She considers this, reaching to take one of his hands in hers.]

It can be for the both of us, I guess.

[She hums.]

I’m glad to spend all the time with you that you want.

[ Laurent threads his fingers with hers and smiles. ]

Yeah... I have to admit, this is my first romantic relationship. Do you want to try leading, Adelaide?

[ As one would say: dip him in a tango. ]

[What.]

Your first... Seriously?

[She finds that kind of hard to believe, but... Well. It’s not like she has much experience, either.]

I’ll take care of you.

That's reassuring to hear. Did it look like it's not my first?

[ He has a little bit of a teasing tone in his voice. ]

It seems like you’d charm just about anyone you wanted to.

[She raises an eyebrow.]

You give me too much credit.

[ Laurent laughs a little, with his... somewhat calmed bedhead--depending on how much work Adelaide put into taming it. ]

Though, I'd rather charm you.

[She smooths his hair one last time, and he looks... Mostly presentable! Definitely better. She presses a quick kiss to his lips, before pulling back with a soft laugh.]

Well, I'd definitely consider myself pretty charmed.

[ After eating some more crackers and cleaning the bed, Laurent looks a little thoughtful. ]

Do you have to be anywhere soon?

[She helps him tidy, raising an eyebrow.]

No, not really. I can be here all day.

[If he wants her to, at least.]

Good. I was wondering if you didn't mind napping with me. I was in bed all day, but maybe sleep is finally catching up to me since I barely did any of that.

[ :) ]

[Pffft.]

Hey, if that's all you want, I won't turn it down.

[ Laurent leans in to hug Adelaide from the back and makes them both flop onto the bed. They're similar heights, so there's no bigger/smaller spoon, but he buries his face into the nape of her neck anyway. ]

Thanks. If it's uncomfortable, let me know.

[She lets out a surprised squeak when they flop back, before laughing softly. It's... Nice, in a way. She supposes this must be what it feels like when people say they feel safe and comfortable around people.]

Okay, but you don't have to thank me for this, y'know?

I'll thank whoever I want, whenever I want, for whatever I want and there's nothing you can do to stop me.

[ How evil!! ]

Good night.

[Downright diabolical...!]

Pfft, alright. Good night, Laurent.
