Week 5
Weather: All Week - Clear Skies...?
- A New Week
Another Monday is here, and that means another round of weekly announcements. You haven’t had any strange dreams since that odd one on Friday evening, but some of you can’t help but feel something…familiar stirring up inside of you. Some kind of energy, some kind of power…
But before you can think too much on it, your train of thought is interrupted by Tom Nook’s voice booming over the speakers again, as per usual.
“Good morning, everyone! Happy fifth week on the island, yes, yes! I have a very special announcement for you today, and that’s that the museum will be open starting on Wednesday! We are currently detailing where to lay out the plot, and you will see another construction area tomorrow. We’ll most likely have it near Able Sisters for ease of convenience. I’m very pleased with our two new establishments!”
He claps delightedly to himself. Tom Nook seems very pleased with how the island is coming along so far!
“Next, please give a warm welcome to our new neighbor, Raymond! Raymond is working as the Able Sisters’ accountant, though he is a little confused about the number of clocks in his house… Ah, but I digress. I’m very happy that we’ve filled up all three of our villager plots!”
Snake, Audie, and Raymond...what an interesting trio. One who enjoys working on his muscles, one who loves fashion, and one who crunches numbers.
“And finally,” Tom Nook continues, “while I don’t have much for you all this week, I am curious about something. I’d like to know how the Meteor Shower went for all of you! It was your first one, no? I hope your wishes will come true!”
Little does he know...some of them already have. Perhaps they will continue to, too, throughout the week.
--
After the morning announcements, you may notice that there has been a new posting on the bulletin board. Upon closer inspection, the new posting is from no one other than Snake himself!
His posting is as follows:
- Hey hey! I’m CRAZY excited about living here on Isle Sonrisa, where the biggest attractions are my biceps! I wanna build up my muscles even more, so can you help me with something?
I want as many barbells as I can get! Yep, no limit, just give me everything you’ve got! You know where to find me, and I’ll give anyone who gives me a barbell a special surprise! Thanks!
P.S. If anyone wants to arm wrestle sometime, give me a ring! I’ll be right there in a jiffy!
Possible Objectives
1. Fulfill Snake's odd request
2. More to come...
OOC: Tom Nook will be available for NPCing. In fact, we encourage interactions with him on Monday specifically! Your interactions may unlock more objectives, so stay tuned!
We also will be discontinuing weekly plotting posts. Thank you!

So it's really bad, then.
[She shuffles on her feet.]
I'll try not to pry, but... Might be a good idea if you talked about whatever it is...?
no subject
[...She noted she was running out of iron real fast.]
Ain't any point in it. Never has been.
no subject
Of course there's a point to it? I mean, you're important.
5.0 spoilers
...'Important'?
[She repeated the word bitterly, biting her lower lip. Of course, that was true in the objective sense. The people and the worlds they lived on...every single one was important, or else she wouldn't have been doing this. If every living person wasn't important, she would have admitted Hades was right; that those tiny lives were somehow lesser than his, than Elidibus, than Lahabrea.]
[And yet here she was, somehow--whether by the will of Hydaelyn, some unknown decision made by a long-sundered Ancient, or even just simple fate--somehow the most important person from the Source to its shards. The very fabric of time and space had been torn and remade for her, because the world as it was could not be saved without the Warrior of Light. Because the pains of the First could not be healed without the Warrior of Darkness.]
[And somehow, that great and grand picture was meant to justify it all. Justify that they'd fought and killed their own dark reflection in a man who had endeavored to save his home at an unthinkably high price in blood. Justify that someone had to linger for a decade only to fade away when she needed him to.]
[At what point did saving the world and her shards stop outweighing everything that was sacrificed so that a single blacksmith could stay alive to see it done? How impossible a dream was the one she'd seen last night, with her friends together and laughing--some long passed, some still living, but for how much longer?]
[Her arm snapped in a sudden gesture, throwing the small chunk of iron ore in her hand clear across the river in frustration. Someone else would find it later, she didn't care. She just wanted to throw something before dropping to sit on the ground with her head in her hands, laughing in bitter exhaustion. When she spoke again, her voice had changed; though it had been casual, now she had a thick accent more befitting a sailor.]
Ain't got no Twelve-damned idea how 'important' I am, kid, an' I'm real fuckin' tired of it now.

But, she supposes, she doesn't have to know. She watches the woman for a moment, considering what to say. It's too late to worry about upsetting her, so maybe what she says won't matter.]
...
[Her gaze goes towards where the iron chunk landed.]
If you could, would you want to live a normal life?
no subject
[Even if she had the choice, it was too late now.]

...
[One thing she didn't understand were all the people who said they wanted to go home - that they had reasons they couldn't stay. Scintilla had been one of those people who said as much.
She presses her lips together, cocking her head.]
What if you changed how your world works?
no subject
Lot of work to do before anythin' like that happens.
no subject
no subject
...For now. Until more of 'em die so I ain't have to.
no subject
She lets out a soft huff, almost a laugh.]
There are people here, too, who might be able to help. If your world won't change on its own, why not go for help from outside of it?
no subject
no subject
You don't know that's what's going to happen.
no subject
no subject
Okay, but, consider this: you can't tell her what to do.]
That should be my choice, shouldn't it? Who and how I want to help?
no subject
no subject
...You shouldn't just have to deal with something unfair on your own because you're afraid of other people being hurt for you.

[Alisaie's words rung loud in her head then--when it hurts so much your heart feels fit to burst, let it burst. Let it burst, and fill up again with your love for them. And never, ever forget.]
[How could she forget? How could she when she could never let it burst to begin with? The Warrior couldn't break down even on the last shreds of her very existence. Facing the impossible with cracks covering her very soul, she could only continue to fight.]
[If you had the strength to take another step-]
There's only ever been one person that knew what this was like. Fightin' constantly, strugglin' to save the world and knowin' how hard it was just to pick up and keep goin'. Somebody who never saw me like some kinda savior or weapon.
...An' he's gone now. He's somewhere I can never see or talk to him again, because I needed his help. Because for me to live, he had to stop existin'. Now there's some bastard out there pilotin' his body and I ain't sure if we got the strength to kill him.
no subject
And it's just not fair, she thinks, that there are people here who are from worlds that are placing incredible burdens on their shoulders. It's not fair they have to fight and struggle and suffer when she's able to live a life where the most painful thing that happens is what she does to herself.
Saying it's not fair won't change anything, though. Everyone knows that life isn't fair, and being here hasn't changed that as much as she would hope it could.
She doesn't know what to do, but she wants to help.]
You could let us help you share that burden. Like... Maybe we don't know fuck all about your world and your friends and maybe we can't help, but... If we want to, shouldn't we be allowed to try? You deserve to let someone help ease what's expected of you.
