Weather: All Week - Clear Skies...?

A New Week

Another Monday is here, and that means another round of weekly announcements. You haven’t had any strange dreams since that odd one on Friday evening, but some of you can’t help but feel something…familiar stirring up inside of you. Some kind of energy, some kind of power…

But before you can think too much on it, your train of thought is interrupted by Tom Nook’s voice booming over the speakers again, as per usual.

“Good morning, everyone! Happy fifth week on the island, yes, yes! I have a very special announcement for you today, and that’s that the museum will be open starting on Wednesday! We are currently detailing where to lay out the plot, and you will see another construction area tomorrow. We’ll most likely have it near Able Sisters for ease of convenience. I’m very pleased with our two new establishments!”

He claps delightedly to himself. Tom Nook seems very pleased with how the island is coming along so far!

“Next, please give a warm welcome to our new neighbor, Raymond! Raymond is working as the Able Sisters’ accountant, though he is a little confused about the number of clocks in his house… Ah, but I digress. I’m very happy that we’ve filled up all three of our villager plots!”

Snake, Audie, and Raymond...what an interesting trio. One who enjoys working on his muscles, one who loves fashion, and one who crunches numbers.

“And finally,” Tom Nook continues, “while I don’t have much for you all this week, I am curious about something. I’d like to know how the Meteor Shower went for all of you! It was your first one, no? I hope your wishes will come true!”

Little does he know...some of them already have. Perhaps they will continue to, too, throughout the week.

After the morning announcements, you may notice that there has been a new posting on the bulletin board. Upon closer inspection, the new posting is from no one other than Snake himself!

His posting is as follows:



Hey hey! I’m CRAZY excited about living here on Isle Sonrisa, where the biggest attractions are my biceps! I wanna build up my muscles even more, so can you help me with something?

I want as many barbells as I can get! Yep, no limit, just give me everything you’ve got! You know where to find me, and I’ll give anyone who gives me a barbell a special surprise! Thanks!

P.S. If anyone wants to arm wrestle sometime, give me a ring! I’ll be right there in a jiffy!

[Morning, it's mail day! Serval opens up her mail not on the porch this time and goes to the pool, where she sets up another stall by the changing stall with some fancy walls. If you look inside, it's a shower! She seems very proud of this. She also lays some cans of tennis balls at the side of the pool.

Once she's done there, though, it's time to go back to House 9, where everything under "Can Trade" is set up on the front lawn. She's written "Yard sard" in the path with a stick. Of all the things to learn from Tom Nook, memes had to be one of them.

Or you can catch her later, checking out the new theatre. Everything looks amazing! She'll flit around the place, inspecting it all and sitting in all the chairs.

At night, Serval is sitting in a tree as usual, but you'll see her by the light of her phone and hear a distinct text-to-speech voice reading aloud.]

When the sun rises, it's time to start the day...

I guess so! Everyone's up in the day here, after all. [yawn] But staying up all day is kind of tiring sometimes.

[ Hello... Minato gravitates towards the clothes. Specifically the dresses, all of which he's picking out and setting to the side. ]

Everything here's for sard?

[ It sure is a lot of stuff. Minato's mostly been shoving all his junk into the storage shed and forgetting about it, and he doesn't want to see what it all comes out to if he sets it all out like this. ]

[sugooooooooi]

Uh-huh! I think it's a fancy word for trade. I have a bunch of clothes and stuff, but I don't really need them.

[She bats around an eye patch like it's a toy.]

Are you gonna try fashion?

[compendiem]

[ He thinks about it for a moment, and ultimately agrees that it is a form of trade, clothes for bells- or whatever Serval wants for her things, depending on her grasp on money. ]

Not for me, but I want to get the dresses for Sonico. What do you want for them? Something new to play with?

[sugooooooooi]

That sounds fun! Do you have something like that?

[ He pulls out...!!

A lab experiments set. Look at all the vials filled with colorful liquids. ]

You mix things together and hope they go boom.

The way you describe that, it's kind of scary...

[ Kaede is taking some time to check it out too, and she waves at Serval. ]

It's really nice, isn't it?

Uh-huh! And I bet the famous person Tom Nook-san mentioned will like it! Though what else do you think we need?

Well, we have the stage and seating... I have no idea what kind of decorations we could put out either.

I guess all we need is something to perform.

[sugooooooooi]

And it has to be something that'll make us famous, right? So he'll notice us!

[spiritoso]

Yup! A play or a concert would be good options, I think! We could probably do something else too, but I don't know what that would be.

[sugooooooooi]

Oh, we can definitely do a concert! Talk to Minato-san! He was talking a couple weeks ago about how maybe we can all play music together.

[Sylvando rolls up with his wagon full of clothes to the sight of Serval trying out all of the chairs... Cute.

He laughs as he comes down the aisle toward the stage.]

Hi, Serval! Having a good time?

[sugooooooooi]

Uh-huh! I'm trying to see what else we need to get the famous guy here, but this place is fun so far!

[hypnowhip]

Ah, so you heard about that too! Tommy-dear mentioned something about an event, so I wonder if we could put on a show as part of it! I wanted to do a spectacular grand opening for the theater anyway, so...

[He trails off as he smiles up at the stage, imagining all of the fun performances that could go on there.]

If you have any suggestions for the theater, I'd love to hear them! I wish we knew what K.K. Slider's tastes were... Does he like something grand or a little more subdued, I wonder...?

[sugooooooooi]

If it's big, then it's more likely that he's gonna hear about it, right?

[hypnowhip]

True! I'm much better at throwing big events anyway.

[If his personality didn't give that away... He's definitely the "go big or go home" type, but he knows not every performer is.]

Drawing in large crowds would be better for the island in general... Gets our name out there, you know?

[sugooooooooi]

Yeah! Oh, I know! Let's all use our instruments and hold a big party where we each play a couple songs! Or group up into bands and play more songs!

That's when afternoon naps come in handy. [ Dokja chimes in from nearby, peering up at the tree Serval seems to have nestled in. ]

Evening, Serval. Doing some reading before bed?

[sugooooooooi]

Uh-huh! Look, Dokja-san!

[She hands down her phone, where an app called "BookFriend" has an interactive storybook open.]

My wish came true! It's gonna help Kevin-san and I learn more words!

[afterword]

[ Carefully he takes it in hand, peering at the app with sudden sways of his fox-like tail. ] You wished for something like this?

That's good, I'm happy for you. [ There's a mystified look that he gives before he returns the phone with a curious smile. ] I'm sure if you wanted to learn more Laurent would be able to help you, he was a teacher back home.

Do you enjoy being able to read?

[sugooooooooi]

Yeah! Laurent-san has been helping me a lot. He taught me tons of words! It's really hard, but since everyone else here can read, I wanted to try it too.

[afterword]

Laurent is really nice, huh? [ He fiddles with his own phone briefly. ] The network is a nice way to talk to everyone too when we're not nearby. You can always get in contact with anyone here.

Yeah! Though it's a small enough island anyway, right?
