- The Move-In
You’ve spent the week adjusting to island life by getting to know one another, figuring out what to do with all those presents, gathering your resources and selling them off to Tom Nook. The weekend is finally here, though, and that’s something to celebrate!
...But when you wake up on Saturday, whenever that may be, the environment you’re in is not the tent you remember falling asleep in. Rather, you’re inside of some kind of house with a white wall and ceiling, wood lined across the bottom of the walls. The floor is wood, too, shiny and glossy as the sun rays shine through the one window in your house. Whatever you had lying out in your tents is still arranged in the same general order you had your things in before. Furthermore, you’re still lying on your camping cots with the same people who fell asleep in the tent with you, but if you decide to get up and investigate, you’ll find two other rooms other than the one you’re in.
Facing the door from the inside, if you look to your left, you’ll find...a bathroom! It’s got a basic toilet, sink, and a bathtub with a showerhead for you to use. There are also enough bath towels for each person hanging on a towel rack. The walls are white but the floor in here is tiled instead of wooden. The room across the bathroom, however, is empty. It has the same wallpaper and flooring as the main room you found yourself in.
It’s a small, comfy place you’re staying in, but the real question is… When did this happen? Only one way to find out.
And sure enough, if you’re awake by nine AM, Tom Nook will rally everyone to Resident Services for his morning announcements.
“Good morning, everyone, and welcome to your first weekend on Isle Sonrisa! As you’ve all probably already noticed by now, we were able to upgrade your tents last night into houses! Don’t worry, there is no fee for this upgrade -- but now you finally have a place where you can decorate your house with all the furniture you were able to get in the mail. For any excess items you may have… Might I suggest a yard sard of some sort, hm?”
He tilts his head a little. He thinks this is a good idea!
“Alternatively, houses all come with storage. There’s a small little storage shed in the back of everyone’s houses that can fit many, many items. If you don’t want to sell your items to me or hand them off to someone else, you can store them inside of there.”
Tom Nook nods his head. “Yes, yes. I’d like to suggest that you all take this weekend to decide how to arrange the items you’ve gotten in the mail...and one more thing about those items: You can put them outside, too. For example, oh, an exercise area might be nice…” He sounds a little wistful when he says it, but promptly shakes his head afterwards.
“Ah-! Before I forget...erm… It seems as though one of our friends has unexpectedly left the island. We don’t know where or how he left, you see...but Heimdall is no longer here. We’re still working on figuring out a way to send you all home, and we’re trying to track him down, too.”
He looks very guilty about that, at least. But the moment passes, and he perks up again, smiling at everyone as best as he can. “Alright, that’s it! You can spend the weekend however you’d like to, but with your new homes being built and all the furniture some of you have received, well… It may be a good idea to work on that, no?”

...
Worth it. ]
It's good.
[ He's scalded all his taste buds and can't taste anymore but that's okay. ]

You...okay there?

[ What else can he say? You have to drink coffee hot, or it goes along the same lines as tea where you blink and the next thing you know, it's cold and not as good anymore.
Lowering the canteen he looks around himself, but the only person staring is Ren, and he suspect it's more out of concern than being charmed. ]
Doesn't really have the same effect as back home...

[Ren isn't exactly sure what he could mean by that, other than the strength, honestly.]

It's more like the... allure? There's this coffee shop, Chagall, that I used to go to a lot. I dunno. I felt cool drinking there.
[ On hindsight, this makes him sound like a hipster, but he shakes his head because he doesn't mean to have the exact same coffee as Chagall; Ren's blend is his own, and there's charm in drinking his too. ]
How strong can you make it? Black Label strength?

[There's a little pause at that last bit as he thinks about it.]
I think I've heard about that kind before, though I don't think I can replicate whatever their blend is and what they do to their beans. Most people who came into Leblanc weren't looking for aggressively strong coffee, but I can try to experiment and see what I can do for you. Might not be knock you right on your butt coffee, but it'll be something.

[ There are only two times he ever drinks coffee, anyways, in the cafe by himself and in the lounge at the dorms with everybody else. With everybody here, the latter seems like the sort of vibe Ren would go for. ]
I'll taste test whatever you come up with, though. I won't ever turn down variety, whether that's Chagall's blend, or Leblanc II, or... Leblanc I? If that's what you're working towards.

[It'd be nice, really. Hopefully they'd get an actual proper stove soon.]
Mm, I think I'll be working towards coming up with some kinds of my own. Might as well make it my own here, you know?

[ Reheating coffee via microwave seems to be a big no-no, anyways ]
I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of things you come up with, though. Death coffee. Really looking forward to it.

[He'll never say no to a good ol' fashioned microwave for food reheating.]
Well, I hope I can live up to your expectations.

[ THIS SOUNDS BAD but he doesn't mean it in a bad way, he just has zero expectations in general. He is hard to disappoint. ]
