weekend 1 log
Weather: Saturday AM and PM - cloudy and warm. Sunday AM - rainy, PM - cloudy.
- The Move-In
You’ve spent the week adjusting to island life by getting to know one another, figuring out what to do with all those presents, gathering your resources and selling them off to Tom Nook. The weekend is finally here, though, and that’s something to celebrate!
...But when you wake up on Saturday, whenever that may be, the environment you’re in is not the tent you remember falling asleep in. Rather, you’re inside of some kind of house with a white wall and ceiling, wood lined across the bottom of the walls. The floor is wood, too, shiny and glossy as the sun rays shine through the one window in your house. Whatever you had lying out in your tents is still arranged in the same general order you had your things in before. Furthermore, you’re still lying on your camping cots with the same people who fell asleep in the tent with you, but if you decide to get up and investigate, you’ll find two other rooms other than the one you’re in.
Facing the door from the inside, if you look to your left, you’ll find...a bathroom! It’s got a basic toilet, sink, and a bathtub with a showerhead for you to use. There are also enough bath towels for each person hanging on a towel rack. The walls are white but the floor in here is tiled instead of wooden. The room across the bathroom, however, is empty. It has the same wallpaper and flooring as the main room you found yourself in.
It’s a small, comfy place you’re staying in, but the real question is… When did this happen? Only one way to find out.
And sure enough, if you’re awake by nine AM, Tom Nook will rally everyone to Resident Services for his morning announcements.
“Good morning, everyone, and welcome to your first weekend on Isle Sonrisa! As you’ve all probably already noticed by now, we were able to upgrade your tents last night into houses! Don’t worry, there is no fee for this upgrade -- but now you finally have a place where you can decorate your house with all the furniture you were able to get in the mail. For any excess items you may have… Might I suggest a yard sard of some sort, hm?”
He tilts his head a little. He thinks this is a good idea!
“Alternatively, houses all come with storage. There’s a small little storage shed in the back of everyone’s houses that can fit many, many items. If you don’t want to sell your items to me or hand them off to someone else, you can store them inside of there.”
Tom Nook nods his head. “Yes, yes. I’d like to suggest that you all take this weekend to decide how to arrange the items you’ve gotten in the mail...and one more thing about those items: You can put them outside, too. For example, oh, an exercise area might be nice…” He sounds a little wistful when he says it, but promptly shakes his head afterwards.
“Ah-! Before I forget...erm… It seems as though one of our friends has unexpectedly left the island. We don’t know where or how he left, you see...but Heimdall is no longer here. We’re still working on figuring out a way to send you all home, and we’re trying to track him down, too.”
He looks very guilty about that, at least. But the moment passes, and he perks up again, smiling at everyone as best as he can. “Alright, that’s it! You can spend the weekend however you’d like to, but with your new homes being built and all the furniture some of you have received, well… It may be a good idea to work on that, no?”

Anyways, that's fine. If Yoo Joonghyuk wants to hold off on making it. And technically the surprise is partly the bed, he had mentioned he would get it today and that he only got one but Joonghyuk hasn't seen the bed yet for himself. Not since Dokja just came back from putting it out in the house. But seeing it inside the house.. it looks homely.
Maybe that's why he's kinda excited as he feels a distant longing for actual home again. Already he can imagine how the rest of their companions would work to set up their newfound house. He just gestures for him to follow, glancing around as he does. ] I've been hearing rumors that having bells saved up is a good opportunity for the start of the next coming week. Not sure for what, but I'm curious to find out.
[ Especially since he's got a good hefty amount saved thanks to Joonghuyk passing on unwanted items to him and Dokja selling it. ]

[ Granted he has weird luck? So maybe he shouldn’t be saying that. There are some trees with apples and some trees without, making him wonder if that’s related. Joonghyuk doesn’t talk more about wood and merely follows until they’ve made it to house 2. Inquisitive eyes are still pinned on Dokja despite the furrow of his eyebrows, tail swaying left and right.
The rumor is welcome. This means they can possible shop—an upgrade from camping. However: ]

[ Of course there might be specifics to the trees. He's also noticed that there are trees that grow apples and do not. But he knows Yoo Joonghyuk has chopped wood more so than he has so if anyone would find out something it'd be him.
His tail sways up and down as he reaches out to the door and glances back at him. ]
Yeah? We're here anyways.
[ Get ignored!!! He pushes open the door then quickly moves behind Joonghyuk to start ushering inside without any fear. Of course there's a good amount of room but what's different is their pair of cots.. sleeping bags.. are no more. Well, their's specifically is in the house's storage. But instead there's the large log bed with more than enough room for two with two cushions. Otherwise it looks like this side has some things set up... an apple rug for example. Some of their things are also organized for easier access. ] What do you think?
[ If it says anything, it implies that he.. well. Is trying. ]

Mostly the bed though. His tail kind of sways, maybe that's a wag. Up to interpretation. ]

And yet, despite all that, he's doubting whether the man is happy. Granted, were he in this situation reversed would he be mad to find out like this? ...He might just end up taking the sleeping bag instead, maybe. He actually debated it but the bed is just so spacious his tired brain thought "it's fine." ]
..Y, yeah. It ended up costing a lot more hardwood than I thought. [ ... ] Sorry.

His attention shifts back to Dokja, noticing his nervous demeanor. Right now, it's difficult to tell if he's mad or not. ]

Well... there's a lot of space so. [ Now that he's here he's realizing that he may actually die today. But, it's fine, just watch. He moves over and sits down onto the bed, right next to that spot that Joonghyuk seems to press on. ]
Even if we share, there's still plenty of room left?

[ So he doesn't say anything about sharing and instead walks out of the room to go gather some more. It isn't raining anymore, so it should be easier. ]

He looks after for a moment longer before he sighs and runs a hand through his hair, mumbling to himself. ] ..I really can't tell with him.
[ He's tired... the earlier rainy weather and now cloudiness is making him sleepy. Well, may as well try out the new bed and nap. ]
