- The Move-In
You’ve spent the week adjusting to island life by getting to know one another, figuring out what to do with all those presents, gathering your resources and selling them off to Tom Nook. The weekend is finally here, though, and that’s something to celebrate!
...But when you wake up on Saturday, whenever that may be, the environment you’re in is not the tent you remember falling asleep in. Rather, you’re inside of some kind of house with a white wall and ceiling, wood lined across the bottom of the walls. The floor is wood, too, shiny and glossy as the sun rays shine through the one window in your house. Whatever you had lying out in your tents is still arranged in the same general order you had your things in before. Furthermore, you’re still lying on your camping cots with the same people who fell asleep in the tent with you, but if you decide to get up and investigate, you’ll find two other rooms other than the one you’re in.
Facing the door from the inside, if you look to your left, you’ll find...a bathroom! It’s got a basic toilet, sink, and a bathtub with a showerhead for you to use. There are also enough bath towels for each person hanging on a towel rack. The walls are white but the floor in here is tiled instead of wooden. The room across the bathroom, however, is empty. It has the same wallpaper and flooring as the main room you found yourself in.
It’s a small, comfy place you’re staying in, but the real question is… When did this happen? Only one way to find out.
And sure enough, if you’re awake by nine AM, Tom Nook will rally everyone to Resident Services for his morning announcements.
“Good morning, everyone, and welcome to your first weekend on Isle Sonrisa! As you’ve all probably already noticed by now, we were able to upgrade your tents last night into houses! Don’t worry, there is no fee for this upgrade -- but now you finally have a place where you can decorate your house with all the furniture you were able to get in the mail. For any excess items you may have… Might I suggest a yard sard of some sort, hm?”
He tilts his head a little. He thinks this is a good idea!
“Alternatively, houses all come with storage. There’s a small little storage shed in the back of everyone’s houses that can fit many, many items. If you don’t want to sell your items to me or hand them off to someone else, you can store them inside of there.”
Tom Nook nods his head. “Yes, yes. I’d like to suggest that you all take this weekend to decide how to arrange the items you’ve gotten in the mail...and one more thing about those items: You can put them outside, too. For example, oh, an exercise area might be nice…” He sounds a little wistful when he says it, but promptly shakes his head afterwards.
“Ah-! Before I forget...erm… It seems as though one of our friends has unexpectedly left the island. We don’t know where or how he left, you see...but Heimdall is no longer here. We’re still working on figuring out a way to send you all home, and we’re trying to track him down, too.”
He looks very guilty about that, at least. But the moment passes, and he perks up again, smiling at everyone as best as he can. “Alright, that’s it! You can spend the weekend however you’d like to, but with your new homes being built and all the furniture some of you have received, well… It may be a good idea to work on that, no?”
(OOC: Welcome to your first event log! Any questions can be directed to the FAQ. We will no longer be posting log questions and will be funneling them to the FAQ instead for easier access.

But. Oh. It's still raining outside and Laurent does a quick wipe of his face so that water doesn't get in his eyes. ]
What a daring man, provoking wasps and not killing them on sight.
no subject
[ Him versus over a hundred wasps...? Without powers? Are you kidding him? ]
I intended to catch them, but they dispersed after you entered the tent.
no subject
Wouldn't you have angered them if you caught one of the bunch...?
no subject
... You catch the swarm in the net and they’re placated.
[ His expression seems the same, but there’s a tint of confusion in his eyes. ]
no subject
I'll keep a net in handy for next time then.
[ Laurent... did not have one in his pocket. A horde of aggressive wasps was the last thing he expected in rainy weather like this. ]
Pulling it out of your pocket like unsheathing a sword would be a sight to see.
[ Laurent looks over at Joonghyuk. If it's about looking cool, even with a bug net, he could probably pull it off--but he'll keep that to himself. ]

He cocks an eyebrow before reaching into his pocket—instead of pulling out his net, he pulls out one of the wasps he caught earlier. If a net is akin to a sword, would a wasp be like a bomb? The bug doesn’t seem bothered. ]
no subject
You just... You kept a wasp in your pocket.
[ yjh................ ]
no subject
I was chopping trees.
[ You were watching him chop them earlier. Of course, he must have ran into another hive before. ]
no subject
For the hardwood?
no subject
[ That's how Joonghyuk thinks... But he's been on a survival mindset forever. Anyway, he's walks into Nook's tent and sells the wasp. Good riddance. ]
no subject
... They sure are pricey. Though, for the danger involved, I'm not sure if I'd like that risk.
no subject
They're easy to catch, [ For him. ] so it's free bells.
[ He really is... A big gary stu. Watch him put these bells into his pocket. ]
no subject
Which might as well be correct because if Yoo Joonghyuk were to die, Yoo Joonghyuk would be extinct.
Which leads to the analogy of being compared to a dinosaur, but it screeches to a stop when Laurent can't help but snicker. He couldn't hold it back. His analogy has failed. ]
I suppose... for you alone, maybe.
no subject
But more so— ]
... Did you not need to survive in your world?
[ He may not have his abilities or sword, but his current strength, speed, endurance, etc. are all a result of the world he came from. ]
no subject
[ Everyone's standard of "normal" has been different, but Laurent had seen that Joonghyuk is from Korea and not some otherworldly country that happened to use Korean sounding names. Thank you, passports--and from how Joonghyuk noted that before monsters, stars and such, it was "normal". He thinks he can safely assume that his "normal" and Joonghyuk's "normal" are similar--at least before the gods came and fucked everything up.
He squeezes some water from his clothes and gets his drenched fringes away from his face. ]
Hm. I guess I lived pretty comfortably on my own after I moved out. Though I wouldn't consider catching wasps as part of a regular survival routine.
no subject
You would survive a wasp sting unless you're allergic.
[ Of course, a part of him will always be jealous of those who lived relatively comfortable lives, but he knows better than anyone that it doesn't mean they didn't go through hardship. ]
no subject
Survival is a great thing to live by, but I don't think it's something you'd have to direct your entire life with when you can.
[ Sure, he can get stung and live through it, but if he could afford to, he'd rather not get stung in the first place. Just call pest control or torch the nest and the wasps in it with a flamethrower. 10/10. Would recommend when remodeling a house. ]
I just wouldn't put "the ability to catch a wasp" on the list of desperate survival requirements.
no subject
Still, he doesn't comment on that because he still doesn't know what he plans to do at the end of the scenarios. ]
Fast reflexes can save your life.
[ That's what it is, but he thinks Laurent already knows. ]
I'm going.
[ To chop more wood. Follow him or not, it doesn't matter. He exits the tent and continues into the rain. ]
