- The Move-In
You’ve spent the week adjusting to island life by getting to know one another, figuring out what to do with all those presents, gathering your resources and selling them off to Tom Nook. The weekend is finally here, though, and that’s something to celebrate!
...But when you wake up on Saturday, whenever that may be, the environment you’re in is not the tent you remember falling asleep in. Rather, you’re inside of some kind of house with a white wall and ceiling, wood lined across the bottom of the walls. The floor is wood, too, shiny and glossy as the sun rays shine through the one window in your house. Whatever you had lying out in your tents is still arranged in the same general order you had your things in before. Furthermore, you’re still lying on your camping cots with the same people who fell asleep in the tent with you, but if you decide to get up and investigate, you’ll find two other rooms other than the one you’re in.
Facing the door from the inside, if you look to your left, you’ll find...a bathroom! It’s got a basic toilet, sink, and a bathtub with a showerhead for you to use. There are also enough bath towels for each person hanging on a towel rack. The walls are white but the floor in here is tiled instead of wooden. The room across the bathroom, however, is empty. It has the same wallpaper and flooring as the main room you found yourself in.
It’s a small, comfy place you’re staying in, but the real question is… When did this happen? Only one way to find out.
And sure enough, if you’re awake by nine AM, Tom Nook will rally everyone to Resident Services for his morning announcements.
“Good morning, everyone, and welcome to your first weekend on Isle Sonrisa! As you’ve all probably already noticed by now, we were able to upgrade your tents last night into houses! Don’t worry, there is no fee for this upgrade -- but now you finally have a place where you can decorate your house with all the furniture you were able to get in the mail. For any excess items you may have… Might I suggest a yard sard of some sort, hm?”
He tilts his head a little. He thinks this is a good idea!
“Alternatively, houses all come with storage. There’s a small little storage shed in the back of everyone’s houses that can fit many, many items. If you don’t want to sell your items to me or hand them off to someone else, you can store them inside of there.”
Tom Nook nods his head. “Yes, yes. I’d like to suggest that you all take this weekend to decide how to arrange the items you’ve gotten in the mail...and one more thing about those items: You can put them outside, too. For example, oh, an exercise area might be nice…” He sounds a little wistful when he says it, but promptly shakes his head afterwards.
“Ah-! Before I forget...erm… It seems as though one of our friends has unexpectedly left the island. We don’t know where or how he left, you see...but Heimdall is no longer here. We’re still working on figuring out a way to send you all home, and we’re trying to track him down, too.”
He looks very guilty about that, at least. But the moment passes, and he perks up again, smiling at everyone as best as he can. “Alright, that’s it! You can spend the weekend however you’d like to, but with your new homes being built and all the furniture some of you have received, well… It may be a good idea to work on that, no?”
(OOC: Welcome to your first event log! Any questions can be directed to the FAQ. We will no longer be posting log questions and will be funneling them to the FAQ instead for easier access.
Let us know if you have any questions, as always! NPCing will be available after ~3:30PM EST today.)

Laurent feels like he got some sort of revelation, but really... branches?? ]
That's understandable. I was worried whether my housemate would have thought the same since there were two guys, but she seemed to be fine with it.
[ Which, in all sense of the word, is a huge relief for everyone in it. Laurent should really count his blessings more often. ]
Do you two get along?
no subject
We get along pretty well, all things considered. She isn't really any more unruly than a couple of the students in my class.
no subject
[ How is your class, Byleth-sensei... ]

[...]
... hm. He's a good person, and a very intelligent young man, but...
[Goddess, she's tired just thinking about the shit he gets up to at night.]
no subject
But?
no subject
It's rare for him to take something seriously, and he's always... hm. I get the sense that he's always... holding himself back in some manner.
[She might have an inkling why, but... hm.]
... Also he's the 'new girlfriend every week' type. My room in the dormitories is directly below his.
no subject
Oh.
[ Yeah. Oh. ]
I'm guessing it must be hard to sleep through some nights?
no subject
[Sylvain why are you LIKE THIS]
I've caught Dimitri--he's the house leader and a childhood friend of Sylvain's--chiding him for it a few times, but it doesn't seem to work.
no subject
Maybe he was lonely? Just looked for solace in the wrong places.
no subject
I have one other possible idea for what it might be, though...
[... And she really doesn't like it. She swears, if she ever meets Margrave Gautier in person...]

[ Laurent wonders... he doesn't feel that Byleth is too expressive, but from the tone of her voice... ]
Something worse than bringing girls home every night?
no subject
[She frowns.]
He's from a noble family, and the heir at that, so... This might be the only bit of freedom he has in that regard before...
no subject
[ Since that sounds like a thing for teachers against personal family matters. ]

[BYLETH]
no subject
You know what. Everyone has someone they hate enough to punch them in the face. Byleth is valid. But he thinks she can be a little sneaky about it. ]
Maybe you should set her favorite dress on fire or make her go bald. Some say hair on the head is a woman's life.
no subject
[BYLETH...
She's going to tuck those ideas away for the future, though. Maybe a female noble will piss her off at some point.]
no subject
A black eye sounds like a good addition to his face then. You must really care for your student to go at such lengths.
no subject
... Beyond being attacked with knives, but she's going to keep those thoughts to herself.]
They're all very dear to me. Sylvain is caring and reliable; Annette is one of the most hardworking people I've ever met; Mercedes is very sweet and pays careful attention to everyone around her; Felix and Ingrid are dedicated to their goals, and Felix can be surprisingly perceptive; Ashe--well, he's here, have you met him? [... She continues, anyway-] I've never met anyone more loyal than Dedue, and he's quite gentle... And Dimitri is sincere and idealistic... I think he'll make a good king one day...
... Ah. Forgive my rambling...
no subject
Oh, no. Not at all. I thought that was rather nice to hear. It's rare to hear such passion nowadays, or at least where I'm from, so listening to you felt like a breath of fresh air. I'd love to hear more about your students, but I think I should get going now.
[ The helmet is his and he has to meet up with other people. ]
Could I get another story for next time?
no subject
[And she's always happy to talk about her students, so that's really just a plus for her, honestly.]
See you around, Laurent.
