- The Move-In
You’ve spent the week adjusting to island life by getting to know one another, figuring out what to do with all those presents, gathering your resources and selling them off to Tom Nook. The weekend is finally here, though, and that’s something to celebrate!
...But when you wake up on Saturday, whenever that may be, the environment you’re in is not the tent you remember falling asleep in. Rather, you’re inside of some kind of house with a white wall and ceiling, wood lined across the bottom of the walls. The floor is wood, too, shiny and glossy as the sun rays shine through the one window in your house. Whatever you had lying out in your tents is still arranged in the same general order you had your things in before. Furthermore, you’re still lying on your camping cots with the same people who fell asleep in the tent with you, but if you decide to get up and investigate, you’ll find two other rooms other than the one you’re in.
Facing the door from the inside, if you look to your left, you’ll find...a bathroom! It’s got a basic toilet, sink, and a bathtub with a showerhead for you to use. There are also enough bath towels for each person hanging on a towel rack. The walls are white but the floor in here is tiled instead of wooden. The room across the bathroom, however, is empty. It has the same wallpaper and flooring as the main room you found yourself in.
It’s a small, comfy place you’re staying in, but the real question is… When did this happen? Only one way to find out.
And sure enough, if you’re awake by nine AM, Tom Nook will rally everyone to Resident Services for his morning announcements.
“Good morning, everyone, and welcome to your first weekend on Isle Sonrisa! As you’ve all probably already noticed by now, we were able to upgrade your tents last night into houses! Don’t worry, there is no fee for this upgrade -- but now you finally have a place where you can decorate your house with all the furniture you were able to get in the mail. For any excess items you may have… Might I suggest a yard sard of some sort, hm?”
He tilts his head a little. He thinks this is a good idea!
“Alternatively, houses all come with storage. There’s a small little storage shed in the back of everyone’s houses that can fit many, many items. If you don’t want to sell your items to me or hand them off to someone else, you can store them inside of there.”
Tom Nook nods his head. “Yes, yes. I’d like to suggest that you all take this weekend to decide how to arrange the items you’ve gotten in the mail...and one more thing about those items: You can put them outside, too. For example, oh, an exercise area might be nice…” He sounds a little wistful when he says it, but promptly shakes his head afterwards.
“Ah-! Before I forget...erm… It seems as though one of our friends has unexpectedly left the island. We don’t know where or how he left, you see...but Heimdall is no longer here. We’re still working on figuring out a way to send you all home, and we’re trying to track him down, too.”
He looks very guilty about that, at least. But the moment passes, and he perks up again, smiling at everyone as best as he can. “Alright, that’s it! You can spend the weekend however you’d like to, but with your new homes being built and all the furniture some of you have received, well… It may be a good idea to work on that, no?”
(OOC: Welcome to your first event log! Any questions can be directed to the FAQ. We will no longer be posting log questions and will be funneling them to the FAQ instead for easier access.

Why?
no subject
Because it's here... I want to see the whole island. What's around the island. I can't fly, so... this is just as good.
no subject
It's more likely you'll drift off to sea.
no subject
I was thinking I'd just push the plane back if I get too far... Or sail it.
[ He juts a thumb over his shoulder at nothing behind him -—except his wings. ]
no subject
[ And without even asking, he'll settle on the plane, almost tilting it over, but with light footsteps balances out whether he needs to be on the closest or furthest wing.
Taking out his flimsy shovel, he starts paddling them. Yes. He wants to see the rest of the island, too. ]
no subject
[ He settles back, though, him on one wing and Joonghyuk on the other and watching the shoreline leave. ]
...Sorry. I'd help out, but I only carry the axe with me. [ He nods his head towards the shovel paddle. ] Were you mining?
no subject
[ How does that work? Not sure. It's worth a shot as Joonghyuk paddles from the back to push them forward. ]
no subject
no subject
I can paddle and steer.
[ Don't worry about it. Please stop making the plane go backwards. With some more rowing they're going places, though not that fast. Still somewhere. ]
no subject
...if you get tired, let me know. Sails could still work.
no subject
The other side of the island should be up ahead...
[ Past the river mouth that they see up ahead. It is said that "it is too dangerous to try and brave crossing the river that separates you from the other parts of the island," but what will wait for them?
A barrier? Or... ]
no subject
Walder was right. Primal beasts don't want them to leave. ]
We're almost there. Can we keep going?
no subject
Hits an invisible wall. His eyes narrow when he hears and audible thud. He tries to see if going out toward sea would lead them to an opening, but nothing. ]
Hit it.
no subject
Hit... what? Minato squints out towards the nothingness, pushing plastered bangs out of his eyes and looking down into the water in search of a rock or something else that has them beached, but there's just nothing.
A barrier preventing progression, and even as Minato picks up his axe and approaches the nose of the ship, he doubts he can bash his way through this one either. But he gives it a go all the same, calling for his strongest Persona and feeling nothing respond, driving with his shoulder and then his elbow and then the blade of the axe that slams into air— it cracks and shatters in his hands, handle splintering into two and stone splitting and crumbling into the water before him. ]
no subject
What if they crash the plane into the wall? Is it that strong? No, they need this plane. ]
I'll go dive. Don't leave with the plane.
[ Okay? Please. ]
no subject
[ As if he could leave with the plane if he even wanted to. Minato shakes the numbness out of his hands and straddles the nose of the plane so he can keep watch of the water where Joonghyuk would be. ]
Be careful. And, uh. If you manage to catch up to the axe head...
no subject
You want it back.
[ Is that it... ]
no subject
[ They've been though a lot, him and his axe head. And every second that passes, it falls further and further into the ocean's depths and he'll never see it again. ]
no subject
It goes all the way to the floor.
[ Fortunately, that isn't tooooooo deep. Still, he's irritated beyond belief. ]
no subject
[ Minato accepts the axe head with both hands and tucks it safely away into his knapsack, peering into the water and trying to see how deep it goes until it hits the sea floor. ]
That's weird... It's not keeping the fish and stuff out though, right? Or maybe they're getting through some other way... We could follow one.
no subject
[ Joonghyuk circles back to his original place on the floating plane to make sure it stays balanced and hoists himself up. With a rapid shake, his hair and wolf tail dry. Sorry if you get wet. ]
If it's only singling us out, then it wouldn't block the plane.
[ Or is it because they're on the plane...? ]
no subject
Mm... we could get off and try to push the plane though. But I don't want to lose it...
[ But he does want to see what happens.......
He gets out a clothesline to tie onto part of the plane so he can be tethered to it still while he jumps into the water and give it a poke forward. ]
no subject
... Are you planning to do this next week?
[ Maybe they should ask Nook about the barrier, then circle back to experiment more next time. It would be good to not need to pointlessly test something if there's an answer already out there.
Seeing that Minato already hopped off, Joonghyuk also gently falls back into the water. They can at least see what this does. Okay. Let's see. ]
no subject
[ As long as the sea's a bust, he'll turn towards the rest of the island soon enough. It would be so great if they could get the plane flight-worthy, though— which would require having the plane, so after letting it go adrift and watching it float past the barrier, Minato takes hold of it again so it can't drift any further than that. ]
It's likely just us... Worst case scenario, we can put our own note in a bottle and set it adrift. We might get found within the century.
no subject
[ Again, shaking like a dog, but they're both wet already so this time it doesn't matter. Taking out his shovel, he's ready to paddle them back once Minato is seated on his wing. It's just them looking to explore, is it...
Minato would be his ally, kind of. ]
If I find a way through, I'll tell you.
