- The Move-In
You’ve spent the week adjusting to island life by getting to know one another, figuring out what to do with all those presents, gathering your resources and selling them off to Tom Nook. The weekend is finally here, though, and that’s something to celebrate!
...But when you wake up on Saturday, whenever that may be, the environment you’re in is not the tent you remember falling asleep in. Rather, you’re inside of some kind of house with a white wall and ceiling, wood lined across the bottom of the walls. The floor is wood, too, shiny and glossy as the sun rays shine through the one window in your house. Whatever you had lying out in your tents is still arranged in the same general order you had your things in before. Furthermore, you’re still lying on your camping cots with the same people who fell asleep in the tent with you, but if you decide to get up and investigate, you’ll find two other rooms other than the one you’re in.
Facing the door from the inside, if you look to your left, you’ll find...a bathroom! It’s got a basic toilet, sink, and a bathtub with a showerhead for you to use. There are also enough bath towels for each person hanging on a towel rack. The walls are white but the floor in here is tiled instead of wooden. The room across the bathroom, however, is empty. It has the same wallpaper and flooring as the main room you found yourself in.
It’s a small, comfy place you’re staying in, but the real question is… When did this happen? Only one way to find out.
And sure enough, if you’re awake by nine AM, Tom Nook will rally everyone to Resident Services for his morning announcements.
“Good morning, everyone, and welcome to your first weekend on Isle Sonrisa! As you’ve all probably already noticed by now, we were able to upgrade your tents last night into houses! Don’t worry, there is no fee for this upgrade -- but now you finally have a place where you can decorate your house with all the furniture you were able to get in the mail. For any excess items you may have… Might I suggest a yard sard of some sort, hm?”
He tilts his head a little. He thinks this is a good idea!
“Alternatively, houses all come with storage. There’s a small little storage shed in the back of everyone’s houses that can fit many, many items. If you don’t want to sell your items to me or hand them off to someone else, you can store them inside of there.”
Tom Nook nods his head. “Yes, yes. I’d like to suggest that you all take this weekend to decide how to arrange the items you’ve gotten in the mail...and one more thing about those items: You can put them outside, too. For example, oh, an exercise area might be nice…” He sounds a little wistful when he says it, but promptly shakes his head afterwards.
“Ah-! Before I forget...erm… It seems as though one of our friends has unexpectedly left the island. We don’t know where or how he left, you see...but Heimdall is no longer here. We’re still working on figuring out a way to send you all home, and we’re trying to track him down, too.”
He looks very guilty about that, at least. But the moment passes, and he perks up again, smiling at everyone as best as he can. “Alright, that’s it! You can spend the weekend however you’d like to, but with your new homes being built and all the furniture some of you have received, well… It may be a good idea to work on that, no?”
(OOC: Welcome to your first event log! Any questions can be directed to the FAQ. We will no longer be posting log questions and will be funneling them to the FAQ instead for easier access.

[ Consider his curiosity piqued, and the wallpaper to go in his mouth for a nibble the moment he gets his hands on it. ]

[She had been a bit too weirded out by it to try it.]

[She doesn't want to rip it though. So she grabs a corner and licks it. Nothing.]
Awww....

Boo.

[ And get sick and... maybe it's better their walls taste like nothing tempting. ]
no subject
[And that'd be so gross.]
no subject
[ That is still a thing. ]

[The dress fund! Why is Minato so cute?!]
no subject
How's the fund going, by the way? A house is a lot more expensive to upkeep than a tent... Living in a tent was good enough.

[She laughs, and shakes her head.]
Catching bugs is helping, even fi they're crawly and creepy, but I'm glad for the house! The bath, specially!
no subject
[ Apparently there are showers in the bathrooms but maybe Minato alternates between dunking himself in the ocean and dunking himself in the river, during week 1. ]
Seeing all the bugs have been fun, though. I've never seen so many before, especially not in the city.
no subject
[also soaking in the bath is magical.]
You like in the city too? What is yours like?
no subject
[ He doesn't have to think about it too hard at all, having given this answer before. ]
no subject
[She giggles, because it sounds like he doesn't want to talk much about it.]
Do you like it here?
no subject
[ huge chompy ones that go around stomping on people and tearing them in half, what a life that would be ]
no subject
[And they eat HUMANS!]
no subject
[ And that's what makes them so cool. ]
There's something fascinating about those sorts of creatures... Things like alligators and tigers and giraffes. They're kinda scary, but really cool once you get to know them.
no subject
[Wait, does Minato know a lot of other animals?]
Have you met a lot of animals?
no subject
[ Very graphic, amazing music. ]
Back home... we fight monsters that are big and scary and eat humans. But I've always thought they look pretty cool too. They sorta look like me.
no subject
[That... actually shocks Sonico.]
You fought monsters?! You're a cute monster though!
no subject
I guess so... I have even cuter team members, though. We all fought monsters together.

[ For lack of a better word. His voice dips into fondness, recalling them now. ]
Yukari is independent and headstrong, and never fails to let me know when I'm being stupid. Junpei is warm and welcoming, reckless- but sometimes you need that to move everybody forward. Fuuka holds everybody together, makes sure we're all safe and focused. Mitsuru-senpai is our leader, and she's one of the most accomplished, put-together people I know. Akihiko-senpai also helped found the team, and he unrelentingly looks forward, it's admirable. Ken's become like that too, and it's hard to slack off when you see him work the hardest out of all of us. Aigis works hard too, she's funny, and I love watching her find more and more things she likes about the world. Koromaru... is the best of us. He's perfect. I love him.
