Weather: Clear skies all weekend

It’s finally the weekend!

You’ve all been working hard to make sure today is a success. Tom Nook has delivered your fliers, and word has been spread about your island. Maybe your goal is less obvious, or at least, has been less advertised to people outside of beautiful Isla Sonrisa, but it’s that sort of expectation that hangs in the air like the excitement that’s nearly palpable. One thing’s for certain: Hopefully, KK Slider will have taken note of your sunny little island. And by the way the seaplane keeps on coming and going throughout the day, unloading other animal-like passengers, there’s no doubt that others from this world have noticed, too.

The sisters have placed the designs that were submitted for the contest outside their shop. It’s a good thing you have so many creative people inhabiting an island! Tom Nook is also handing out brochures with answers from the island’s residents for people to learn more about its inhabitants. If KK Slider is to be welcomed here, it’s best he knows for sure that he’s come to the right place. For those who are less familiar with KK’s stylings, Tom Nook has set up a display of KK’s singles and CDs. It’s hard to not notice the white dog with floppy ears and soulful eyes on some of the covers and posters.

Wandering around are Audie and Raymond -- among other animals, of course -- who are dressed in their best duds; as inhabitants of this world, they’re pretty darn jazzed about the prospect of KK Slider arriving. Even Tom Nook has broken out his best, most fashionable bowtie. Blathers, too, and he’s taken it upon himself to bring some fish- and dinosaur-themed refreshments. The museum is closed, but (Who knew an owl could bake such delicious treats?) Blathers has a little booth setup outside of the museum with pamphlets and everything you've submitted (oocly highlighted) on display outdoors.

There is another certain someone wandering around who looks a little too worried for this event, though. It's Snake, and he seems somewhat troubled. If he sees you, he's not shy about approaching and asking you if you've seen his belongings.

"Yeah, it's kind of a terrible predicament! I don't know where they went, but I lost them all on the beach! I hope they didn't run away... those running shoes are pretty amazing, after all! You'll know they're mine if you find them, they've got my name written on 'em. I'd look for 'em myself, but you know, I just got done with a KILLER set of reps to make sure my abs and biceps are in tip-top shape for the event, bunyip. I'll be around here, so just come find me if you find my precious things!"

As for the entertainment area... You’ve all been working hard to set it up. It’s hard to miss the sort of passion that almost seems to radiate from the areas the otherworlders have put so much effort into. After all, this is what will hopefully draw KK Slider to your island, to not only perform, but to hear your own performances. Tom Nook might be passionate about making sure this island thrives and becomes a home to many people, but those who have been brought here… well, perhaps their passion outshines even Tom Nook’s. And for those of you who need to take some time to relax, the library and pool are some good options, too.

Should you choose to check the entertainment area in the middle of the day, there sure is a white dog with floppy ears and soulful eyes playing the guitar and singing a cute melody.

Lastly, Gulliver can be found sitting on the beach, taking a breather. But when he's approached he'll come on over--it seems he's just remembered something important!

Sunday rolls around. Maybe you're still working on cleanup or relaxing after a long day. KK Slider is sitting in the Resident Services area now, sitting on a stool. There are other stools set up for people to sit around and listen.

He'll take requests based on your mood and genre. He's got a wide variety of tunes to play, so don't be shy!

[ It's like some kind of body horror like their animal ears and tails, but he'll... choose not to bring that up. ]

[ And it should be obvious that it's all survival. Joonghyuk walks over to the kitchen area. He returns back with a cup of water.

I think a mental wall skill is a pretty useful skill to have.

[ He doesn't know the extent, but he takes the cup of water anyway. ]

Thanks. At times, I used to wish to have some powers for mundane utilities, but I think I liked being normal more.

... He also bought an ability to keep the air around his moist, giving him a dewy complexion at all times.

[ He might as well through Dokja under the bus so Laurent can stop thinking the man is proper and efficient. Dokja is effective and not much more— ]

[ Laurent looks around the house. What's a good thing to end... he looks at Joonghyuk up and down. ]

Are you feeling tired? Sore anywhere?

[ Joonghyuk blinks slowly and carefully thinks this question over. ]

Nothing more than the usual.

So when you say it's the usual, you're allowing me to assume that you do feel sore somewhere, but it's not as detrimental to your health because you're used to it.

[ Just let him know if there is one, you doofus. ]

... When you've lived for years, tired is a normal feeling.

[ So no, not sore. ]

[ Laurent chuckles a little at that. ]

I don't need to live as long as you to know that.

[ Let him reach his hand out to Joonghyuk's forehead to give a slight forehead poke. If successful, any sort of fatigue will be permanently gone. ]

[ He notices it, though it doesn't take too long for his mind to go turbo. His frown seems deeper as the dislike is evident. However, how would people know if he doesn't say it— ]

I didn't like that.

Yeah, it's written all over your face.

[ He withdraws his hand. ]

But you wanted to see a demonstration, and that's how it is.

[ A hollow space where something used to be. Something had definitely ended there. ]

Is it even permanent?

[ He wonders how it works, considering he will have to fight these Concept things eventually. ]

I can choose to undo what I just did, since it's relatively on a smaller scale. But I can also leave it alone, making it the effect permanent. If I was stronger, I can prevent a bigger end from not occurring at all.

[ He thinks about it for a moment. ]

Though, me being away from my home world causes nothing to end back there, but that's out of my control, since I'm all the way here and I don't have enough power.

[ He still concept baby. ]

That's annoying.

[ An inconvenience for Joonghyuk, but he doesn't seem too worried. He should have time to figure out some way to make things work when they visit Laurent... There's always a way.

At least the mental wear is gone for however long? That's nice. Kind of. He's feeling conflicted about it. ]

[ Like in his house. Why did you come to visit?? ]

[ Joonghyuk... please level your social skills instead of the combat ones. ]

[ Social skills are useless. He just needs to charm them with his face and promise to lead them to victory. ]

[ He's not hurt, and it's obvious it's in jest, but he did tell him before. Though, this shouldn't have been surprising, considering what kind of people they are: a smiley smiler you can't easily seem to trust and a paranoid parrot. ]

I do, but I didn't take you seriously.

[ Which Laurent should understand it's fair? Look at you... Mister Stepford Smiler. ]

[ It's honestly... very fair. Laurent knows that too, which is why despite saying so, he isn't hurt at all. This is exactly why. ]

Then, for this, I'd like it if you did.

[ Though he won't force Joonghyuk if he didn't. But.

It's Laurent. It's Joonghyuk. It's them. ]

I put the arcade game in my room.

[ This way. ]

[ Laurent thinks it's a little endearing when Joonghyuk is like this. If anything, despite everything he's told him before, Joonghyuk is, unfortunately, his type. But what he stated earlier is all true--including that he wasn't interested in him that way.

Laurent smiles, thinking about how funny that is, while following Joonghyuk. Laurent hopes Joonghyuk and Dokja live a good life with their kids. ]

So you really did set it up in your room. I'm touched.

[ They will live their best lives!! Joonghyuk takes the left side of the arcade machine, leaving the player 2 controls to Laurent. ]

It would be too out of place in the main room.

[ TIME TO FIGHT. ]

[ Laurent goes to stand on the other side with the Pkayer 2 controls are. Before giving it to Joonghyuk, he did play it several times in which he concluded that he absolutely sucks at arcade games. And hearing that Joonghyuk is a gamer... well... yeah, he's ready to get his ass handed to him.

He chooses to play anyway. It's an arcade fighting game but with no blood since this world is pretty PG. ]

Have you played with Dokja before?

[ Don't need blood to call out who's the winner. Joonghyuk chooses his fighter using the random feature, since he isn't here to cream Laurent. No need to pick a counter to a baby. ]

Once. [ Dokja was awful. ] He prefers to read on his phone now that it's here.

Oh, right. I heard there was a book in that thing.

[ Dokja's precious phone... Laurent does his best to play, even though it's still pretty bad. ]

I'm glad he finally has something to read. He's been waiting for such a long time that I thought he was hearing things but it turned out to be a skill.
