A New Week

It’s the week of the event, and now’s your chance for any last-minute preparations! The entertainment area is coming along just fine with the new chairs and decorations and the lineup of musicians ready to put on a concert for everyone. A concert is the perfect way to get someone like K.K. Slider’s attention, surely! Furthermore, with a library underway, the bottom left hand area of the island is coming along nicely.

Tom Nook’s announcements are all about the event, too. You have a big weekend coming up, after all!

“Hello, everyone! Thank you all for your hard work with the event these past few weeks. We’re not done yet, but I’ve gone ahead and copied all of the flyers. Orville is helping me mail them all out to residents all over, so we’ll hopefully have a great turnout to the Isle Sonrisa concert this weekend! Now…

“For more preparations, I’d urge you to consider food for the event as well. Perhaps today may be too early to start preparing anything, but as K.K. Slider will be here on the 15th, maybe Friday evening would be a good time to do so. Oh-! Speaking of food…”

Tom Nook will turn towards Ren with a smile on his face. “I went ahead and added a few little bits to Cafe Leblanc. I thought it might be a popular spot this weekend, so I went ahead and added more tables and chairs for people and added some wooden plank flooring for you! Yes, yes -- er, if you’d rather me take away these changes, I can do so, but I hope you do enjoy them.”

Then, he’ll turn back towards the rest of the group: “Ah, the only other thing I have for you is a little Q&A for our island residents! I thought that our visitors would enjoy getting to know those responsible for putting on such a fantastic event and creating such a nice island. Normally I’d ask you to write it on a piece of paper, but… I thought it’d be fun to do this over messaging so you can all learn more about one another, too! Assuming you all don’t know enough about one another already… Of course, if you’d rather it be private, then you can submit it to me personally in writing.

“I’ve sent the questionnaire to each of you in a group chat. Please give me your answers as soon as possible.”

The questionnaire is as follows:

For anyone checking the bulletin board, there are a couple of requests, just like when Snake asked you all for items! One is from Raymond:

As much as I love soaking in the nature of this beautiful island, I’m missing something in my own home... office supplies. Can you guys do me a favor? I really need some things that give my home a more office-y feel. A guy has to surround himself with things he feels comfortable with, you know?

I don’t like to think of myself as too picky, so anything that would be at home in an office is good for me. Printers! Plants! Fax machines! Coffee makers! The sky is the limit... I think.

Another is from Audie!

Hey, island friends! It’s Audie! I’m a fashionable gal, and I could really use some spiffy new items to totes bring some excitement to my wardrobe! And my home! Dresses, hats, bags, socks and shoes, and furniture... whatever it is, if you think it’s stylish, I TOTALLY would love to take it off your hands! Just make sure it’s fun and fashionable, okay?

[ Laurent grins as he continues playing the piano. He opens his mouth to sing quietly--it's not amazing, but it isn't bad either. ]

[ Though, he's not serenading Dokja. He wants to clear that up. ]

This song popped into my head when I thought of you two.

[ Fortunately he doesn't consider that he may be serenading him, even though there's obvious confusion filtering his features. Brows knit together with lips pursed until he realizes what the intention is for. Which instantly gets a slight color to his cheeks and an awkward laugh. ] Huh?

[ Hope Laurent isn't expecting a heartful discussion about said feelings because now is the time to focus the attention elsewhere. There's no way Dokja wants to discuss his feelings about Yoo Joonghyuk with anyone at the moment, he already is shy about it regarding it alone. His heart is baby. ] Wel..l... I-

[ The 4th Wall is trembling lightly! Shut it. He shakes his head and tries to move on. ] Do you have songs for anyone else? Like Minato? Serval?

[ The most obvious dodge of feelings. ]

[ Laurent is always the type to avoid heartful discussions if it comes to him, so Dokja isn't completely alone in that regard. That's why he'll give him a pass this time around.

Laurent thinks about it for a second, before playing this. ]

For Minato.

[ Bless. He can easily recompose, preparing to listen to the next song and..

...

... Starts laughing. ] Surprisingly, very fitting.

[ Ah. Dokja laughed. It makes Laurent laugh a little too, so Dokja isn't alone, but he genuinely felt like laughing when he wasn't making fun of someone standing right in front of him. It's... been so long. He forgot how it felt like. ]

Yeah. It really is the perfect fit.

[ Laurent transitions into this next. ]

This one is for Serval.

[ It sounds bubbly and light. ]

[ It was the kind of music he last expected to describe Minato, so it really caught him off guard but it was funny even so. And he meant it when he said it fits.

His head shifts against his palm as he listens and lips quirk into another smile. ]

Another good match. [ When he thinks of Serval, he too thinks of something innocent sounding. Bubbly and light. ] Let's try one more. [ Who to think, who to think.. Ah. ] Adelaide?

[ Laurent thinks. Honestly, he could probably serenade her and it was a thing on his to-do-list while he's still here. The mere idea of it should be embarrassing, but Laurent is a man who largely doesn't have shame in his whimsical and occasional cheesy behavior. Mostly.

Laurent's hands pause over the piano keys and looks over at Dokja. ]

Are you sure you want to hear it?

On second thought, no. [ It hits him just as he thinks on it some more. Rather, instead of hearing it.. ]

It'll probably be better if she hears it first herself. [ Of course he came by mostly to check on Laurent and for the most part he seems okay, which is good. Even so considering the music it was fun to relax just a bit more. ] Glad to see you're doing alright.

Thanks for coming to see me. Maybe I'll compile a medley for songs that fit everyone on the island.

[ Laurent smiles. It's nice to have someone checking up on him... more than he thought. ]
