Week 2
Weather: Cloudy Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday AM and rainy PM; clear skies Thursday and Friday AM, slightly cloudy PM
- Arrival
A full week has come and gone, and you may be left with more questions than answers. There’s no word on the progress of figuring out how to get all of you home just yet -- you only have the land, an abandoned sea plane, your new homes and a garden to get you through this upcoming week.
...So far, that is.
Come Monday at nine AM though, Tom Nook does his morning announcements once more. Seems like he has something new for you to work with:
“Good morning, Isle Sonrisa! Great news -- we now have a grocery store up and running for everyone! The grocery store is located right about House #5, and it has a wide selection of foods and ingredients for you to choose from. While we’re still mailing kitchen equipment over to all of you, food shouldn’t be a problem any longer. The grocery store will be run by my apprentices…Timmy and Tommy!
We also have tulips in stock, now! Red, white, and yellow are our only colors, but I've heard that sometimes watering them next to one another may give you new colors. Perhaps you can try that out yourselves, yes?”
He’s very happy about this announcement. He knows how much you all wanted your food, after all! Time to continue with the announcements, though:
“The only other thing I have for you this morning is very, very important. I know there are many of you here on the island already, but assuming that most of you will be going back home, we need to get more permanent residents on the island. Yes, yes. Permanent residents from this world who may be interested in experiencing life on an island!
What I’m asking all of you to do is to prepare housing plots for our new residents. I’ve already designated areas on the island for them, and as such, your Nook Phones now have a map app so you can see where the new land plots will be. Yes, yes. Now, to prepare the first housing plot… I need the following:
1 Log Dining Table
1 Log Extra-long Sofa
1 Log Decorative Shelves
1 Log Wall-mounted Clock
If none of you have a DIY for any item in particular, I’ll go ahead and send the DIY recipe for it to your phones. It will show up in all of your DIY apps.”
He smiles at everyone with his trademark tanuki grin.
“And that’s about all I have for you today! Good luck, everyone!”
Possible Objectives
1. Help Tom Nook prepare a housing plot for a potential new resident!
2. Stock up on food and cook for yourselves and your fellow residents.

It represents the house I teach at the Officers Academy, the Blue Lions. I received it as a birthday gift from my students. One of the first gifts I ever got that wasn't some sort of practical thing like I'd get from my father or the mercenaries in his company.

I definitely can see you being a teacher. [ He hadn't known it, but he remembers distinctively hearing that Teacher voice the other day with Alexis and Yoo Joonghyuk. ] What kind of teaching did you do?

Combat, mostly. Tactics and magic as well, but I'm less versed in the latter than the teachers of the other two houses.

I see, that kind of teacher. [ More along those lines of Joonghyuk's Teacher than those that only taught subjects like Literature, Math, etc. ] Is magic harder for you to grasp?

[ It's like your basic fantasy explanation. White, good, light- so healing. Black, dark, seems bad, more offensive. ]
From mercenary to teacher.. that's quite a sudden change. Any particular reason for it?

My father and I helped the students, and one of the Knights of Seiros who knew my father showed up. We ended up going back to the monastery with him, and he apparently put in a recommendation for me to teach there to the Archbishop. For... some reason...
[... It's pretty obvious she still doesn't understand it either.]
I'm not sure what the logic was. My social skills were pretty poor back then.

[ Fleeing to secure their own life instead of their students just goes to show what kind of person they were. But, listening to the rest of the story.. ] That's quite the turn of events.. and lucky coincidence.
[ That someone knew her father there? He doesn't push to ask why he would want her working there, it's not his business to know. So, he continues on. ] You sound happy when you speak about your class so I have to assume things have been well.

Her expression brightens a bit at the mention of her class again and she nods.]
They're a good group. It's only been a few months but they've all become quite dear to me.

How many students do you have? Is there anyone in particular that stands out? [ There's at least one, isn't there? ]

Most would describe Felix as difficult to deal with, but those people are the ones that haven't taken the time to get to know him. His dedication to mastering the sword is admirable, and he's more perceptive than people would give him credit for.
[... he's actually pretty difficult with most people, but shhh.]
Sylvain's more interested in goofing off most of the time, but he's far smarter than he acts... Mercedes is very gentle and kind, and gifted in white magic. She pays careful attention to everyone around her... she's chided me a few times for overworking myself.
Flayn's the newest addition to the class. She's very compassionate and very curious, though... also a bit sheltered. Her brother is very overprotective.
[And she's like 75% sure he's not her brother, but moving on.]
Dedue is stoic and taciturn, but he's very polite and kind. He's devoted himself to Dimitri and would protect him with his life. And then Dimitri... Dimitri's the prince of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, and a very sincere young man... I think he'd make a fine king in a time of peace. Though... he worries me sometimes.
