WEEK 2 LOG ♬
Weather: Cloudy Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday AM and rainy PM; clear skies Thursday and Friday AM, slightly cloudy PM

Arrival

A full week has come and gone, and you may be left with more questions than answers. There’s no word on the progress of figuring out how to get all of you home just yet -- you only have the land, an abandoned sea plane, your new homes and a garden to get you through this upcoming week.

...So far, that is.

Come Monday at nine AM though, Tom Nook does his morning announcements once more. Seems like he has something new for you to work with:

“Good morning, Isle Sonrisa! Great news -- we now have a grocery store up and running for everyone! The grocery store is located right about House #5, and it has a wide selection of foods and ingredients for you to choose from. While we’re still mailing kitchen equipment over to all of you, food shouldn’t be a problem any longer. The grocery store will be run by my apprentices…Timmy and Tommy!

We also have tulips in stock, now! Red, white, and yellow are our only colors, but I've heard that sometimes watering them next to one another may give you new colors. Perhaps you can try that out yourselves, yes?”

He’s very happy about this announcement. He knows how much you all wanted your food, after all! Time to continue with the announcements, though:

“The only other thing I have for you this morning is very, very important. I know there are many of you here on the island already, but assuming that most of you will be going back home, we need to get more permanent residents on the island. Yes, yes. Permanent residents from this world who may be interested in experiencing life on an island!

What I’m asking all of you to do is to prepare housing plots for our new residents. I’ve already designated areas on the island for them, and as such, your Nook Phones now have a map app so you can see where the new land plots will be. Yes, yes. Now, to prepare the first housing plot… I need the following:

1 Log Dining Table
1 Log Extra-long Sofa
1 Log Decorative Shelves
1 Log Wall-mounted Clock

If none of you have a DIY for any item in particular, I’ll go ahead and send the DIY recipe for it to your phones. It will show up in all of your DIY apps.”

He smiles at everyone with his trademark tanuki grin.

“And that’s about all I have for you today! Good luck, everyone!”



Possible Objectives

1. Help Tom Nook prepare a housing plot for a potential new resident!
2. Stock up on food and cook for yourselves and your fellow residents.

Mods for gathering!

[There's so much to do! So early morning finds Zeke cutting down a tree, beating the crap out of a rock for its sweet secrets, and digging up a bottle. He can also be found getting chased by wasps, because he never learns. Actually, even if you don't see him, his cries of "NOT AGAAAAAIN!" might be enough to warn you of his presence.]

[In the afternoon, though, Zeke can be found outside Tent 9, where a large wide-open space has several logs in a square pattern, flattened out as best anyone could hope for to form a large foundation. Zeke himself is hard at work dragging another large log over, a notch on the end carved to fit together with the ones already lying there.]

[ While cutting down the tree will give Zeke wood (no wasps for this particular tree!), hitting a rock will produce 5 iron ore and 1,200 bells!

The bottle will give Zeke a DIY for a cutting board! ]

Scared, she jumps, but... That was a person, right? Right? So she's gonna go check it out!

And she finds someone that was stung by wasps!]

Are you ok?

[Ever seen a swollen shoebill collapsed on the grass? If not, today's a new first!]

[By way of answer, Zeke groans and twitches a little.]

Think I'm building an immunity... slowly.

[she's gonna get close and offer the medicine.]

Take it, it helps.

Thank you. That's a kindness. [Anything is better than THIS life! Groaning, Zeke accepts the gift with trembling feather-hands.]

It works really fast! When I got stung I took some and it felt like nothing had ever happened!

[Take the magical medicine Zeke, it's worth it.]

[Welp, here goes nothing!]

[--Zeke's body deflates so violently he almost falls over.]

Wha-- that's jolly brilliant!

I got some when I got stung, and it was amazing! Don't you feel energized too?

Of course, but when don't I? [Zeke hops back up to his feet. It's smooth and elegant and he'd look so cool if he weren't a shoebill!]

[Sonico giggles as she watches him, and nods.]

You seem to be very energetic, it's true!

What's not to keep you energized around here? Good hard work, ample relaxation, beautiful girls? It's a paradise!

All we're missing is so music!

That seems easy enough to find! Not that I can provide, I haven't a musical bone in my body...

[ Dokja was on a walk until he stops at the abrupt passing before him, jumping even further back at the cloud of wasps that seem to chase after the man who yells out.

Oh.. god. For now he just watches. He's of no help to you, Zeke. ]

[Zeke runs right to left, an angry swarm of wasps chasing him.]

[Zeke runs left to right, an angry swarm of wasps chasing him.]

[An angry swarm of wasps runs right to left, with Zeke chasing them and swinging his net furiously at them.]

[Zeke runs left to right, an angry swarm of wasps right behind him, vigorously bonking him on the head with his own net.]

[ Truly, it is a comedic scene. ]

[ As soon as Zeke runs to the left... ]

Are..

[ And the man returns to run back to the right. ]

You..

[ And again, the man returns, the net fighting heroically in the battle of nerves. ]

Alright?

[ Clearly not but, at this point... Kim Dokja does not intend to step in at the chance he gains the aggro, but this fate.. fate seems bent on providing an array of stings to your face, Zeke. He prays it is swift and over quickly. ]

[The chance to be a hero has passed.]

[Zeke, or rather a large bird-ball that vaguely resembles Zeke, rolls back into view before slumping.]

[ At least he's not dead. ]

Trees not bearing any fruit seem to have a good chance of hosting wasps. But, you seem to be quite familiar with that. [ This doesn't seem like a first. ]

They're not all supposed to have wasps! [One wasp he can get, but how come so many?!]

[afterword]

This island must be really infested. [ The easy conclusion. ]

That, or your luck is pretty... unfortunate. [ Unlucky. ] Do you need a lot of wood?

That's an understatement. We're building ourselves a cabin, expanding the old house a little.

[afterword]

A cabin? It's a good thing our houses upgraded from tent so it shouldn't demand too much more labor work but.. is it just you working on it?

Of course not! My lovely housemates Milla and Serval are doing their share as well!

[afterword]

Ah, so you're their roommate. [ He's met the two of them already. Serval seems quite.. naive, but strong. And then there's the Lord of Spirits. ]

How's the progress going so far? [ He hasn't exactly kept a close eye on the other houses. ]
