Weather: Cloudy Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday AM and rainy PM; clear skies Thursday and Friday AM, slightly cloudy PM

Arrival

A full week has come and gone, and you may be left with more questions than answers. There’s no word on the progress of figuring out how to get all of you home just yet -- you only have the land, an abandoned sea plane, your new homes and a garden to get you through this upcoming week.

...So far, that is.

Come Monday at nine AM though, Tom Nook does his morning announcements once more. Seems like he has something new for you to work with:

“Good morning, Isle Sonrisa! Great news -- we now have a grocery store up and running for everyone! The grocery store is located right about House #5, and it has a wide selection of foods and ingredients for you to choose from. While we’re still mailing kitchen equipment over to all of you, food shouldn’t be a problem any longer. The grocery store will be run by my apprentices…Timmy and Tommy!

We also have tulips in stock, now! Red, white, and yellow are our only colors, but I've heard that sometimes watering them next to one another may give you new colors. Perhaps you can try that out yourselves, yes?”

He’s very happy about this announcement. He knows how much you all wanted your food, after all! Time to continue with the announcements, though:

“The only other thing I have for you this morning is very, very important. I know there are many of you here on the island already, but assuming that most of you will be going back home, we need to get more permanent residents on the island. Yes, yes. Permanent residents from this world who may be interested in experiencing life on an island!

What I’m asking all of you to do is to prepare housing plots for our new residents. I’ve already designated areas on the island for them, and as such, your Nook Phones now have a map app so you can see where the new land plots will be. Yes, yes. Now, to prepare the first housing plot… I need the following:

1 Log Dining Table
1 Log Extra-long Sofa
1 Log Decorative Shelves
1 Log Wall-mounted Clock

If none of you have a DIY for any item in particular, I’ll go ahead and send the DIY recipe for it to your phones. It will show up in all of your DIY apps.”

He smiles at everyone with his trademark tanuki grin.

“And that’s about all I have for you today! Good luck, everyone!”



Possible Objectives

1. Help Tom Nook prepare a housing plot for a potential new resident!
2. Stock up on food and cook for yourselves and your fellow residents.

[ Early morning Wednesday, residents will find a new tent set up in resident services, next to Tom Nook's tent. It's a white tent, small and quaint, and you hear the distinct sound of some shuffling around inside...

Well, that's new. Lio goes over and knocks on the outside, hoping it's not another poor random soul dragged into this mess.]

Hello?

[ When Lio knocks on the tent flap, there’s the sound of shuffling once more, followed by a small, curious sound: ]

Hoo?

Lio Fotia. I've been staying here for a week. Did you just get here?


[Obviously, but.]

[Zeke, soul of grace and courtesy, walks right in.]

Hoo?!

[ When Zeke walks in, he will be met with...a fellow bird! An owl, to be exact. He looks very proper with his bow tie and the book in his hands; and also surprised to see someone just...walking right in.

Inside the tent is a small bookshelf, a fish tank, and a desk with some research papers on it. There’s also a bucket with some tools inside. ]

Oh—please pardon the mess. I was hoping to get things cleaned up a little before anyone stumbled in here, but since you’ve arrived...

A pleasure to meet you! My name is Blathers. And you are?

Ha ha! By now you must have heard of me! [Zeke sweeps both wings to one side in a posture uncomfortably close to dabbing.] Zeke von Genbu! Bringer of Chaos! Here known as the Dread Bird of Alrest! Jolly pleasure to meet you!

[That last sentence doesn't work in the overdramatic tone of voice. Guess what doesn't stop Zeke.]

[It is definitely time to investigate. After having his own coffee but before opening the stall for the morning, he spots the tent, and of course he has to check it out. Hopefully it's nothing dangerous.

Ren pokes his head into the tent, glancing about.]

Hello?

[ Inside, Ren finds.... an owl! A very dapper-looking owl, to be precise. He looks up from the book he's perusing, and you can almost see the exclamation mark above his head.

Inside the tent, there is a small bookshelf, a fish tank, and a desk with some research papers on it. There is also a bucket with some tools inside. ]

Hoo! Hello there! My goodness, so many visitors already... Ah, I beg your pardon, how may I help you?

[That's certainly...someone. Ren never thought he'd call an owl dapper before, but here he is. He gives him a little smile as he walks into the tent.]

Sorry for the intrusion. I was just wondering what this tent was all of a sudden.

[ Laurent has been here several times, so the white tent grabs his attention. It's really something when the natives are sleeping in tents while the "guests" are sleeping in houses... ]

I hope you're not someone who's trying to steal things from other people's tents. That would be really troublesome.

[ The owl, who's reading a book inside, seems startled at the accusation! And a little distressed, too... ]

Hoo?! I would certainly never! I am merely here to research and study this island's wildlife! It is positively brimming with possibilities, how could I resist?

[ Laurent peeks inside the tent and... it's an owl.

... He should not have any more reasons to be surprised, yet here he is. ]

Oh, I'm sorry. You sound pretty passionate. Are you one of the permanent new residents that Mr. Nook talked about?

[a new tent, huh.... well! He might as well investigate by... peeking in surreptitiously to see what’s up! It’s probably nothing bad, but......!]

[ Hello, Walder! How would you like to meet an owl? A very dapper-looking owl, he's got a bowtie and everything! And judging from what's inside the tent--there's a small bookshelf, a desk with some papers, a fish tank, and even a bucket with some tools--he seems to be of the more educated persuasion! ]

Hoo? Another visitor, how exciting! Welcome, welcome, please come in!

...Ah! I see I’m not the first person to arrive, then!

[clearly, that’s the only reason his usually impressive ranger stealth failed him...! But anyway, he’ll go ahead and pop on in properly!]

Then again, it’s always pretty interesting to see someone new here, so I’m not surprised!

[ By now, the owl inside is expecting visitors... but he still brightens when Milla comes in! ]

Hoo-hoot! Hello there! Goodness, I'm certainly a popular owl today... How may I help you on this fine day?

[ He assessed a fossil earlier, nothing can bring him down. ]

[With all of the half-animals and so forth, this shouldn't be a surprise to her, but it does take her aback for a mere moment before shrugging it off.]

I suppose you would be. People get curious when there is something new here, after all. I can't say I'm much different. [It was just curiosity.] I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Milla.

[By this point in the week, Emporio likes to think he's gotten very good at catching bugs. He's had what, almost ten days to master the art?

It's when he goes to meet Timmy and Tommy with them all that they mention, quite innocently (he hopes it was innocent anyway, but there was a rather odd look of amusement in their eyes and they sure were eager to have one or the other escort him to this spot!)-

There is someone who definitely wishes to research these bugs and he'd be good to bring one of each that he's found to him!

So here is Emporio.

With a great many bugs.] Excuse me..? Um...hello?

[A few calmer ones may be sitting On him. They just think Emporio is neat, and also, that he looks like a honey comb.]

[ The tent inside is pretty modest, but it's been decked out with plenty of research supplies! A bucket with tools, a desk with what seem to be research papers, a fish tank... and an owl, reading a book.

He looks up.

And blanches immediately. ]

Hoo.... HOO?!

[ Just... just give him a moment... ]

M-my apologies, I simply--! My goodness, you have been busy catching bugs, I see...!

[ This is his worst nightmare. ]

Is anyone paying a-TENT-ion in there?

[ From inside-- ]

Hoo! Please come in, my tent is open for new visitors!

[ And once Iori comes in, she'll see a fish tank, a bucket with a few tools, a small bookcase, and even a desk with research papers! And an owl, of course. ]

I realize there is little by way of places to sit, but I hope that will not be too inconvenient!

[ Joonghyuk doesn't knock. He just comes into the tent— ]

Who are you and what is your purpose here?

[ Questions rapid-fire. ]

[ Ah, give him a second to put his papers away-- ]

Ah, yes, welcome! I am Blathers, and my purpose for being here other than basking in the beauty of this island... is to research the various sorts of wildlife that roam around! Fish, fossils.... and bugs, as well.
