Weekend 6
Weather: Clear skies all weekend
On Saturday when you all wake, there is nothing really unusual to note. No strange dreams to think about, no visits to ruminate on--even if they were simply in your dreams. No, this weekend seems to be different from the last: It’s pretty normal.
At least, until you step outside and find… decorations? Yes, it seems there have been a few busybodies working while you’ve all slept. Indeed, Tom Nook looks over with a bright smile and waves with not one but two hands.
“Hello, hello, everyone! Goodness, I didn’t expect you to be awake so early! No matter.... Yes, yes, we have something special for you today! Since last weekend was quite uneventful… Well, I thought since you all have been flexing your creative muscles, I thought I would continue that theme!”
“Welcome to Isla Sonrisa’s very first… Art Walk!”
There are some stalls with various DIYs that might look familiar… pitchers, dish sets… Did Tom Nook make these himself? He won’t say if you ask, but he looks pleased nonetheless.
If you wander by the Able Sisters shop, you'll see the designs you submitted to the contest! All of the submissions are there, but one is displayed more prominently: Emporio's! Everyone's designs are on shirts, but his has been turned into dresses and hats, too... even patterned socks! Congratulations, Emporio, on winning the contest! Mabel hands out the prize of 5,000 bells to everyone who participated, but Emporio also gets ten customization kits on top of the bells!
Intriguing still is the fact that there’s a new face around here! A kitsune, to be exact. There seems to be an aura of shadiness surrounding him, but perhaps that’s just your imagination? Regardless, he’s here, and he’s got a few things to say.
“Oh! Hey, cousin! My name’s Redd. You look really familiar… Can I show you something?”
And he takes you along a walkway. Lining this sort of makeshift path are paintings. Some of them might not be familiar. But others… maybe they depict you with friends. Maybe they depict you holding an umbrella, or reading a book. Regardless, there are some that will surely be familiar…
Because they’re depictions of your wishes.
“This is you, right?” he asks--each and every one of you. And should you inquire how he got these, he shakes his head. “No idea,” he’ll say in response. “They just showed up in my barge one day, and I gave Tom Nook a call… He seemed to know who I was talking about once I described them, if you can believe it!”
How they got there is a mystery. How they even exist is a bigger one. But one thing is certain: Your wishes hold power.

Strange as the paintings are, it’s a time to relax. Maybe you’d like to peruse the artwork (there are quite a few very elaborate statues, too, some that look familiar… like Michelangelo’s David), partake in some refreshments near Resident Services, and discuss some event-planning? It’s a quiet, relaxing sort of atmosphere, and at the end of the day on Saturday, Redd calls you all to attention.
“So I know a guy,” he starts off, “who’s pretty handy with statues.” And that’s true, since he has quite a few set up amongst the paintings! “If you folks want, since we’re all family, I can take some commissions of statues of you all! They’ll be delivered on Monday, since it takes a little while to get it all in order… all for the low low price of 5,000 bells!”
That’s… pretty generous! Redd seems genuine, too. If you take him up on the offer, he’ll take your name down and snap a picture.
“Thanks, cousin! This’ll be the best set of statues I’ve ever seen!”
Raymond seems to be very intrigued by this offer, but he seems a little discouraged for some reason. He keeps on looking like he wants to get a statue done but he looks...sad about it for some reason? See what’s up?

And on Sunday, the art is still there. But spread out near Resident Services is a large picnic blanket. How in the world do they make blankets this big…? Dispersed through the fabric are picnic baskets, and there’s even a microphone set up! It seems live performances are being welcomed here, and Tom Nook takes up the microphone once people have settled in.
“Hello, hello, again! Yes, after the event yesterday, I thought it would be nice to have an island-wide picnic with some live entertainment! Erm… I do apologize, I don’t have any instruments, but I expect many of you do! Please, show off your talents! We are your audience, yes, yes!”
But there’s someone else who’s interested in the idea of performances. It’s Audie, and when she comes over, she seems equal parts excited and curious.
“Omigosh, live performances! Can I join you guys? I can totally sing, even if it’s backup! Or maybe I could learn an instrument today? I totally want to help you guys have an awesome day today!”
